Personally IF we get a deal with optics as well then it is a win win situation. Instead of doing rifle trials separately and then doing optics trial separately. On that front Beretta is a win!

Anyway, lets see what happens in this particular case. I just hope people wont start taking the news of this MOU with POF as confirmation of procurement of Eurofighter or Aster missiles (non of these are related to POF)

nah .. Barrtta is pretty much accurate and similar to Scar in Performance ...

Only issue with barretta is it's weight when empty is 10 lbs and Scar one is 8 lbs

@Horus @Arsalan I recall Brian Cloughley - retired Australian defence attache to Pakistan - saying that POF has two programs it needs to get done: (1) a new standard issue rifle for the Army and (2) upgrading POF's facilities such that it can actually produce a that new rifle efficiently. In the case of this MoU, it could very well be for (2) - i.e. upgrading POF - and not necessarily for the ARX-200.

Isn't American or Belgium co operation is more sensible if Scar is really close to win the competition

Because Italy is made up of many different companies. POF isn't working with Beretta to upgrade its facilities, but another Italian company, Sir Meccanica. They're an industrial company that helps build factories.

Well well has this got Anything to do with the current tensions between Italy and India ? Just speculating. But since Indians captured two Italian Marines, running them through Indiancourts and Italy in return vetoeing India out on the MTCR platform ,India then pulled out of the AugustaWestland deal and then just 10 days back we saw Italy signing the same AugustaWestland 139 deal with Pakistan and now this defence co operation. I wonder what's next.
