PM’s visit to Saudi Arabia aims to assuage Riyadh’s reservations

Very good idea but if that ever happens then expect another Muslim nation alliance which will be anti Muslim United Nations. Meaning we wont be united. The examples are in front of our eyes. Syria, Iraq Libya, Somalia, Lebanon, Palestine, Yemen all have muslim nations on the opposing sides.

The best idea is to make something like NATO so atleast Muslims nations can defend those nations who are part of that alliance. In term of defence and not fighting their wars.

Pakistan should quit the OIC and ask Turkey, Malaysia, Azerbaijan and Indonesia to do the same. Then proceed to create their own organization. You will watch as these jubbay dance around like they are stepping on hot sand.
That's possible if Pakistan doesn't have to go every now and then to take financial help from Arabs. Whenever there is a change in govt, Pak is forced to take their help. Let's hope we come out of our economic issues sooner rather than later.

They should be encouraged to invest like they have 100 billion in india, the butcher of muslims.

When some one fears to others, the feared person visit the ones who is making him scared...not other way around..
The only fear is that, we may not need their help again on the economic front.

Agree. Things are on an upward trajectory in Pakistan. We just fought a survival war with TTP and cleansed our tribal areas. Good times ahead for Pakistan. Not far away.

Hmm, not so fast. Still need major cleanup on the inside. From the judiciary to the police, everything needs to be cleaned. Along with reclaiming Kashmir and Junagarh

I see some interesting comments in this thread. Question to all who are contributing here

1. Western block controls most of world's economy, media and technology.....what this block will have, to sustain expenses, beat west or even pose threat in terms of better weaponry, influence rest of the world.... nothing apart from highly charged and emotional "desire" of forming a parallel block. Over this, the most wealthiest of Muslim countries are already being left out (Saudi, UAE, Kuwait etc)
2. Talking of weapons etc...Where the technology will come from? How much R&D Muslim countries do in science and tech.? What is the percentage of students taking science in their universities?
3. Talking of poor African states as potential potent members of this block against Western block is hilarious.
4. In summary- such block is not possible and even if there will be one, it will be without any teeth/biting power as Muslims cannot be united...when Islam couldn't keep them together so far....mere political ambitions, frustration against west and personal egos can never bond them for good.

Malaysia is dependent on Western MNCs. Turkey is dependent on the European markets

as far as uniting Muslim states goes keeping the existing Muslim states intact is a major challenge

I can understand your point but the aim of this block is not to be anti west or anti Russia/china but to have a united Islamic Union. They can still buy weapons, technology and maintain relations with other organisations and nations. The difference will be for a defense you can jointly invest more in to education, universities, make joint ventures, joint economic unions, fight separatism, terrorism jointly. At the moment most of the muslim nations fight for themselves and under OIC it has been a failure.

Pakistan army recently opened their own military university but imagine a joint university with funds from Turkey, Malaysia and Pakistan. All countries students studying together. This would be a step in the right direction for us.
