Thats a big amount .. Almost 4 times bigger than budget of our state govt of karnataka .. Whats the population of punjab ?

I think its around 120 million.

I don't support Noon League at all but that's one of the better budgets we've ever seen at provincial level

There is at least 15% increase on Education from the previous budget.

"The Punjab government has allocated Rs31.307 billion current and development budget for education sector for the financial year 2012-13, raising it by 15.35 per cent against current financial year allocation of Rs27.141 billion."

Last year our state govt gave a budget of little more than 100000 crore indian rs ..thats around 20 bn$ for 4.5 cro people ..780 bn means 450 bn indian rs ..or 9bn$ right ?
So i am confused ..i think i was wrong earlier ..
I just wanted to know which govt extracts more per capita tax ...it seems your govt is too soft on tax ..

Indirect taxes are the way to go ..tax on petro products ,fast moving products etc are necessary .. Collect it from everyone including poor ..and use it for welfare programs ..

Few people in Pakistan give tax. If our tax to GDP ratio was 14 this year, Federal government would have able to present Surplus budget not a deficit one
