Featured PMLN Leader Muhammad Zubair twice met with COAS: DG ISPR

Not sure why we have a PM or FM or any minister when Bajwa is clearly the one and all :disagree:

kia tarak ke bati kay pechay lagaya howa hai qum ko. Dawn leaks, khalai makhlooq, Indian connections, now leaking sensitive information to RAW, yet this Shareef family keep on getting scott free. Get them out their misery once and for all, Pakistan cannot afford to be dragged and slowed down due to these so called politicians.

That’s a lecture reserved for the opposition. Publicly against army interference in politics and chanting civilian supremacy while privately they beg for NROs to save their asses lol

Valid point!

I wonder what Maryam nawaz will say now. ISPR just torpedoed their entire anti Pakistan campaign.

Bajwa has played #IncompetentPMLN ... funeral will be tomorrow at Gate# 4

Well, gen. Bajwa clearly told said politicians that their legal issues should be resolved in the courts and political issues in Parliament and that the Army has nothing to do with these and should be kept out of them.

I'm not sure how much clearer the COAS could be about keeping the military out of political issues.

Keep in mind that the PMLN pushed the Army into this situation.

Had Nawaz and Maryam not dragged the Army into their tirades recently, this information would likely not have been clarified by the Army.

I am confused about this.

They met after categorical dismissal of armed forces having any political leverage.

then why meet? if every rumour on the political street gets a notable mention, why not meet the representatives of GB and Seraikistan?

An old friend/family friend requests a meeting.

You agree to meeting old friend/family friend.

The conversation during the meeting touches upon a variety of subjects, as is the norm in any meeting between friends/acquaintances, and the friend sneaks in something about the political and legal troubles of Nawaz and Maryam.

You politely mention that political issues should be resolved in Parliament and legal issues in the courts.

Old friend's political party decides to attack and abuse the military and denies any of its members met with you, forcing your institution to issue a statement about the meetings that occurred.

Neither Zubair or the COAS are technically wrong in their statements.

Here are the facts as we know from the individuals/institutions directly involved. Zubair & the PMLN leadership stated that they never explicitly asked for 'favors'. (Maryam has denied PMLN meeting the COAS but Zubair has confirmed it himself, per the tweet above).

The Army never said that it was asked for favors - DG ISPR simply said that the political and legal issues faced by Nawaz and Maryam came up in the conversation and that the COAS politely said that they should be resolved in Parliament and the courts respectively.

Make of the above what you will - the important thing is the part about the COAS clearly stating that Parliament and courts are the appropriate avenues to address political and legal grievances, and that the Army should be kept out of such issues.
