What's new

Pmln 1 year, worst ever in terms of legislation since 1985

But they for a huge mandate right? Turn why are they not working to pass bills?

Because it required experience and some courage. PMLN despite their huge claims, lack those! This is evident from the first year's performance. Actually this government is formed based on rigging and most of the PMLN parliamentarians are dumb and deaf in house!

Look at Sialkot and its people. They do not look to government. They solve their own problems the best they can.

Anyways, rhetorical questions are not going to mask your shartcomings. Better study a bit of economics, especially development economics. That will keep you from making glaring mistakes like the one you have made in your posts here.
And about learning economics, even a little kid knows that the Gov't is getting loans at Double interest rates than other countries. Please explain this to me.

You know they are doing such things out of their ich....Look at the dismal record of PTI....

Care elaborating your statement?

Have your ever heard of KPK's courageous move to pass Right to Information Law which PMLN can't just enact? and also you are comparing here oranges with apples. The performance of center government is to be compared with it's previous center one's not with Provincial Assemblies.

Actually if they would have created some law then instead of this you would have seen threads complaining that economy is going down and they are busy creating new laws.

Oh my God... that's a cute excuse... :kiss3:

and PMLN failed to even do that... :omghaha:

but do listen to their rants regarding experience and full paged advertisements ... the primary function of Parliament is legislation!! making roads and bridges is job of local government.. so please refrain from diluting this debacle of PMLN in first year of their tenure which proved to be worst ever in Parliamentary history of Pakistan.
There has not been a single day during the entire parliamentary year when all 342 members were present. According to Free and Fair Election Network ( FAFEN) , 298 members were present in the house only once, that too, during the third sitting.

It is perhaps due to this very reason that the government has not bothered to persuade or even tried to convince the opposition to support the passage of the remaining 10 bills passed by the National Assembly that are awaiting the Senate’s approval.

If you had noted for how many days PM himself was present in the house... you would know the seriousness of PMLN in legislation for country's interests..

Again I would say neem hakeem khatra ee jaan.
1-Provincial Assembly's legislation is implemented in provincial boundries immediately as there is no provincial upper house in Pakistan.
2- For legislation in National Assembly, the law can't be implemented unless it is passed by both the houses i.e. Parliament as well as senate. PPP,ANP and MQM still hold majority in Senate. Thats exactly the reason why there were so may ordinances issues instead of enactments....
And thats exactly what the newspiece also says in its start----had you read it----
Although 11 bills were passed by the National Assembly in this period, apart from the finance bill for 2013-2014 (which does not require approval of the upper house), the current government could not get a single bill passed through the Senate and signed by the president. However, 12 ordinances were tabled in the first parliamentary year ending on May 31.

The PML-N enjoys a near-absolute majority in the National Assembly but cannot even claim a simple majority in the Senate, where the main opposition PPP holds a majority. The second parliamentary year is set to begin on June 2 and a joint sitting of both houses has already been convened.

According to data obtained from the National Assembly Secretariat, the lower house passed the finance bill in June last year, five bills in February this year, followed by three in March and two in April. These are currently awaiting debate in the Senate.

As many as 43 private members’ bills and 13 government bills were introduced in the National Assembly during the first parliamentary year. However, all 56 are pending discussion in standing committees.
For example on the recent PPO issue.
The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) would be compelled to convene a joint session of parliament to ensure the passage of Protection of Pakistan Bill, 2013 as the party lacks the numerical strength in the 104-member upper house of parliament. The major opposition political parties in the Senate namely Pakistan People's Party (PPP), Awami National Party (ANP), Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q), Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) headed by opposition leader in Senate Aitzaz Ahsan are determined to strike down the bill.

i would again say nangi nahay gi kya or nichoray gi kya... :omghaha:

you said it, "look at the dismal record of PTI".. what dismal record?? we are talking about the poor performance of PMLN and you are dragging PTI in it... & when i elucidated the performance of PTI you started to blame the numbers in upper house? are you kidding here??

Bro, If PMLN has failed to enact a single law in first year just because they don't have majority, even then it is a BIG question mark on the lawmaking ability of PMLN.. It is democracy, not autocracy from which PMLN was born.. in order to perform you have to bring all the parties on same page.. but habituals of one-man-show wouldn't understand that!!

And as per your assertion this nation will have to wait for the day when PMLN gets the majority in upper house so that Parliament could carry out its primary function... BS!!!
