PML-N’s ‘interesting’ rule: Have the 2018 elections already been lost?

One line answer, brother: Might is right. Might comes from money. And this is the law of nature that the powerful have ruled this world.

Before modern times it was rich monarchs who ruled the world, now the power is being shared by rich men or companies; not much difference.

For a country like Pakistan dictatorship is good for many reasons:

1. Like we say لاتوں کے بھوت باتوں سے نہیں مانتے is true here. Don't you see the rich (and perhaps educated) people in Pakistan how they 'park' their cars in busy streets blocking the whole traffic? I've given only one example to describe the mindset.

2. In democracy, you allow every mischief maker to do what they like. For example Imran Khan has brought political chaos to Pakistan since Nawaz came to power. In dictatorship, such clowns will not be allowed to operate like this on agenda of those who are against Pakistan's partnership with China.

3. Dictatorship era has given development to Pakistan in most areas.

4. In democracy, Jahil voters (literate and illiterate both) who are in majority are allowed to elect a Jahil like them to rule and dictate even those who are not Jahil like them. Only majority rule should not override what is right.

I am all for dictatorship ...... but Dictatorship of Proletariat ...

Sometimes I cant believe how critical we get of Pakistan and the folks that inhabit it. Saying things like democracy isnt suited for Pakistan and that people are just too illiterate, or rather stupid, to fully understand democracy.

I guess people here dont pay attention to international politics. The U.S., the pantheon of the supposed fully evolved democracy, just elected the most stupid and unqualified person to lead them. The conservative slash republicans slash Christians that elected him, if i told you how they think like, you would be less harsh on the poor ans illeterate of Pakistan. They beleive the climate change is a hoax, a conspiracy theory designed to take their coal mining jobs. They believe in amassing tons and tons of guns/assault rifles to some very crazy and scary reasons, pathans have nothing on them. You think that Pakistanis believe in conspiracy theory, try some in the U.s. who think the sandy hook children massacre was lie told to take their guns away. So many dont wanna send their kids to college because they fear college will make them liberal. So many believe that earth is still flat. I can go on and on.

People of Pakistan arent as stupid and illiterate as you think them be. They understand democracy and they understand their politicans. The only thing upsetting about Pakistanis is what can also seen on the first page of this thread. The ultimate quick-fix solution. Many of us dont realize that life is grind and you must go through this grind machine and be minced to finally come into whole.

We keep trying something different every 8-10 years because we are not happy with the results of the previous 8-10 years. Now that we have had democray for almost 10 years, here come the same lot again wanting something different, a.k.a dictatorship, because we never tried that before. You know what, do as you wish, bring in the army again for another9 years and then when you're not happy with the general because he's corrupt and isnt accountable bring the politicans back in again. Keep doing it over and over.

When Zia was in power, the 'West' was putting pressure on Pakistan to revive democracy. If you refuse they tighten the grip around your neck and you start choking. It happened to Musharraf also when the West used Mr Iftikhar Chaudhary and the Political Mafia including PML, PPP and PTI to 'revive democracy' in Pakistan. Therefore saying that democracy is something that Pakistanis want by majority is a lie; this is something which the 'West' imposes on Pakistan.

This is also not true that we want to try an alternative every 9 or 10 years. And no, generals are not corrupt, at least we don't hear anything like Surrey Palace, Panama-gate, or Foreign Funding or Goldsmith's about Ayub, Zia, Musharraf or even a general like Yahya. So please get your facts straight! Thanks.

Democracy is not meant for countries like Pakistan where every other 'educated illiterate' gets up and start debating about who should be in power and who should not. Every single person in this country is a politician these days in his own. Ask any one from the street and they ll give you an entire lecture on whose corrupt, whose momin, whose rich and how he made that money. Sadly the people of our country form their opinions on hear say. Whatever they hear on the media and from random people they tend to believe, as long as it is to their liking without giving a damn about the credibility. I'd say our citizens need to learn the definition of credibility to begin with.

Every five years they themselves elect a party to run the country and after a year they start bashing that party. PMLQ, PPP, PMLN and I have a strong feeling that if by a stroke of luck PTI does manage to form the federal government, their fate will be no different. PML's vote bank comes from villages and rural areas where PTI would be unable to make significant inroads due to lack of education, PTI's vote is concentrated in cities. Even though the most popular party in the country at the moment seems to be that of Imran Khan, unfortunately its unlikely that it will be able to win enough seats to form a national government. the problem is not with the politicians but with our people as a whole. The traits we see in these politicians reflect the traits of the majority of the people. After all the leaders come from and are elected by the very same society. It sad to see the defence minister of our country using such cheap language for his fellow parliamentarians but sadly this is the standard of our politicians these days. One day I see PTI members calling names to PML people in Jalsas, the next day say I see PMLN members passing even worse comments. Im afraid this is what we deserve as the fabric of our society has deterioted over the past 30 years, although this is definitely not what our forefathers sacrificed their lives for. our country is filled with liars, cheats and frauds each looking out for his/her own petty interests and you don't have to go far to discover that. Just to local meat shop, vegetable shop or any shop for that matter, pretend to give a few extra bucks and see if he returns.

Even though dictatorship might not be the best form of government but thats precisely what is needed at this point in time. A Strong military leader who is feared and respected by all and who is not willing to sell the country out like those in the past.

The real problem are not people's opinions. It is the ethics of the land

It's been hard for the Army fan boys since Musharaf was ousted. They are triggered by the fact even the DG ISPR had to swallow his pride on live television and utter the now infamous statement "PM is the Final Authority".

Just one phrase makes so many fan boys go bonkers and burn with rage. The Dawn Leaks affair will continue to cause heart burn to the jingoists for long period of time.
