PML-N Worse than PPP in Managing Economy

Answer this point by point, wont be surprised if you wont, have a nice day. Emphasis on, 'point by point'. BTW the topic is economy. I love how this mafia is fooling people so easily, stop worshiping these families.

He cannot. The only thing he can give us is, how things will get better. How Pakistan will experience prosperity after couple of years. On the ground, they have nothing.

You wana taste the truth? Let me share US court order here on the authentication of an illegal Child of your leader or Benami transactions

Lets not get personal because we all are aware of the personal lives of Shahbaz Sharif and Hamza Shahbaz. This is what, Shahbaz Sharif's 8th wedding. Or do you want me to reveal how Shahbaz Sharif got a DSP's wife divorced on gunpoint, got a nikkah with her, celebrated honeymoon with her for a week in Dubai, and than gave her a divorce. Seriously, don't make me expose the Sharif Family.

or justice wajih's findings on the absolute corruption within PTI, how that will be for your tongue to check what an actual truth look like? sour or sweet?

If there was corruption, it was with their private money which is fine. They didn't loot the Government Treasury, or forgave loans from Punjab Bank to Ittefaq Foundry. People can seriously flush their private money down the drain, but the public money belongs to the public and not the Sharif Family. Seriously, how pathetic are you.

Nawaz Sharif or Bilawal, whatever they are.....still a lot lot better then pathetic Taliban Khan under which we might negotiating with TTP at constitution avenue at this time.....hunnnhh!!

Correct me if i am wrong, weren't the Sharif brothers also advocating negotiations with the TTP. Didn't Shahbaz Sharif state that the TTP and PML-N have the same agenda, we are brothers. IK and PTI never called the TTP their brothers. You certainly seem to have a short memory there my friend.

Oh and congratulations, you, your family and your kids are 1 lakh and 20 thousands in debt. So congrats for that. Pathetic Slaves

Last i checked, it was your leader who negotiated with them, better yet have you forgotten your Kings brothers remarks, let me remind them to you:
CM Shahbaz wants Taliban to spare Punjab - - DAWN.COM
It's completely normal if you bomb KPK, or Karachi. Just don't attack Punjab, or to be more exact Lahore. Have a miserable day.
Oh and congratulations, you, your family and your kids are 1 lakh and 20 thousands in debt. So congrats for that. Pathetic Slaves
These people deserve it, not us tax payers.

@notorious_eagle , it's completely fine as long as you don't bomb Punjab, is this a f***** joke?

@Tammem , you win i lose, one can't counter stupidity. Just be ready for Queen Maryam to take over her father...

Although i hate to say it, but i do agree with you. In the direction we are headed, it does seem that Revolution is the final answer. It's just sad how the Political Elite is draining and sucking each and every Rupee out of the country and setting up shop in Dubai. It is astonishing how many houses are owned by Pakistanis in Emirate Hills. Mian Mansha, one of the richest man in Pakistan paid 2.5 lakh rupees in taxes. I mean, are you fu**ing kidding me. And the frustration s quite evident among the common populace. Due to Social Media, the younger generation is quite politically aware and i strongly believe in future it will get worse for the Political Elite. No wonder they have to travel with such high levels of security.

On Topic: The economy is badly managed because frankly PML-N lacks the effective team required to accomplish such a task. Most of the power is concentrated within the Sharif Family which they refuse to share with others. When this happens and power is centralized, than mismanagement happens.

I can clearly se the trend here, that everybody is smacking current elite political parties. And you have all the right to do it. Now I haven't read through all the posts, but one question popping up in my mind, is that due to CPEC I think China wont allow Pakistan to continue as it has done since 1950-60? PML-N can only brag about economic progress due to CPEC. If China didn't offer it, PML-N wouldn't have been better then PPP.

so my point is China wont allow Pakistan to fall apart as some countries want's to happen.

Where has $11 billion gone?

By Dr. Farrukh Saleem
January 17, 2016

In January 2015, the price of petrol in Pakistan was Rs70.29 per litre. A year later, in January 2016, the price of petrol in Pakistan had gone up to Rs76.26 per litre – an annual increase of 8.5 percent. In January 2015, the OPEC basket price stood at $44.70 a barrel. A year later, in January 2016, the OPEC basket price had gone down to $25 a barrel; a decline of 44 percent.

In 2008, the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources told us that the government was subsidising petroleum products to the tune of Rs30 billion a month. The government further said that the World Bank has given the government a deadline of end-2008 to withdraw all subsides on petroleum products. Lo and behold, all subsidies on petroleum products were withdrawn by end-2008 and we were told that from now on Pakistani prices shall be directly linked to the prices in the international market.

For the record, in the past one year the OPEC basket price is down a wholesome 44 percent. For the record, in the past one year the price in Pakistan has gone up 8.5 percent. Where has the 52.5 percent differential gone?

In 2014, Pakistanis consumed some 434,000 barrels a day. In 2014, when the OPEC basket price was $96.29 a barrel, Pakistanis consumed $15 billion worth of oil. In 2016, Pakistanis consumed more or less 434,000 barrels a day. By early 2016, the OPEC basket price had fallen to $25 and, as a consequence, the value of oil consumed by Pakistanis had gone down to $4 billion. For the record, the difference in value between 2014 and 2016 is a whopping $11 billion. Where has $11 billion gone?

How much is $11 billion? Well, $11 billion is the equivalent of Rs6,000 for every man, woman and child in this country. Well, $11 billion is the equivalent of Rs42,000 for every Pakistani family. Imagine if each and every Pakistani family was given a cash grant of Rs42,000. Imagine, with a multiplier effect, the positive impact of such a cash grant could be between $50 billion to $80 billion.

The fact is that there has been a $11 billion bonanza. The question is whether the government should spend it as per its wishes or let the private sector make spending decisions. There’s almost a consensus within economists that “government spending distorts resource allocation”. And that “government spending is a less effective way to deliver services (this is referred to as the ‘inefficiency cost’)”. And that when “individuals use other people’s money” they become reckless. And that “government spending inhibits innovation”.

Economic history and empirical evidence stand in favour of smaller governments. According to Daniel Mitchell, senior fellow at the Cato Institute, “Controlling federal spending is particularly important because of globalization. Today, it is becoming increasingly easy for jobs and capital to migrate from one nation to another. This means that the reward for good policy is greater than ever before, but it also means that the penalty for bad policy is greater than ever before.”

yes I have the same source PTI quotes for everything and that is "because i said so"
Did you ever ask Asad umer for sources?

Yes he answered, if you actually did your research you wouldn't have to make such a foolish statement and make a fool out of yourself.

In fact, if you look at all the slides, beneath it you will find the sourced bookmarks. All the sources used were from Federal Institutions such as Finance Ministry, State Bank, Planning Division etc. The only two slides that were used that did not contain data from Federal Institutions were sourced from the Dean of NUST.

The stats that the Finance Ministry has published shows that the economy today is worse of than it was in 2013. Personal borrowing is at an all time high where the average citizen is indebted 112k rupees compared to 85k rupees in 2013. Investment and exports at an all time low, unemployment at a record high, and no taxes on the rich, only raised through indirect taxation for the poor. The numbers show a very scary story unfortunately.

I will not say which one is less or which one is more. The fact is both are traitors & are continuing to act against Pakistan.

I do not believe that Debt would exceed $105billion - it is around $73 billion now, Debt as % of GDP is ~ 67% (using MoF numbers of Dec 2016), with CPEC it should not reach the level AU predicted in Jan 2016 but if Dar the Economic Wizard is at helm of affairs again then Asad could be surprised - albeit negatively!

Just for those who are interested in how we are managing our economy vis-a-vis debt:

https://propakistani.pk/2017/01/03/pakistans-external-debt-will-soon-cross-staggering-75-billion/

Pakistan’s Debt Due in 18 Months
Pakistan has to pay $11.5 billion within the next 18 months. Various international monetary institutions are owed different amounts from that sum. These are:

  • Pakistan has to pay a sum of $8.76 billion to International Monetary Fund (IMF), World Bank and Asian Development Bank.
  • $160 million has to be paid in Saudi Riyals to Islamic Development Bank.
  • Pakistan has to pay $1.6 billion to China within 18 months.
  • Japan has to be paid back 192 billion Yen.
  • Paris Club from France is owed 625 million Euros.
Debt History
Let’s take a look at Pakistan’s debt history:

  • Pakistan had received $121 million from 1951 to 1955.
  • The figure nearly had tripled in the next five years.
  • By December 1969, the external debt of Pakistan had amounted to $2.7 billion.
  • Pakistan’s total external debt was $3 billion by December 1971.
  • Foreign debt figure had then subsequently increased to $6.3 billion in 1977.
  • Pakistan’s external debt was $21.9 billion in 1990.
  • It was $35.6 billion in 2000.
  • Pakistan’s foreign debt and liabilities in July 2013 stood at USD 61.9 billion
  • In July 2014, Pakistan’s foreign debt soared to USD 63.4 billion, showing an increase of USD 1.5 billion.
  • In July 2015, the foreign debt rose to USD 65.1 billion recording an increase of USD 1.7 billion.
Some Facts
With updated information about Pakistan’s debt, some often used facts need to be updated.

  • With a foreign debt of $74 billion and a population of 190 million. Each Pakistani owes more foreign debt than they earn every month. (The amount is higher when considering local debt.)
  • When the debt is converted to $1 notes, it can be wrapped around the world 284 times (293 times with $79 billion).
---------------------------------

Please keep in mind; the crude's crash has divinely helped PMLN in last two years where price per barrel has halved as compared to PPP Govt's time but some will still say "dekho dekho kaun aaya - Sher aaya Sher aaya" and our earned income will be stashed away in Neilsenz and Nescollz in Panama!
