The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has planned to contact the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and the Awami National Party (ANP) after the installation of a caretaker setup in Sindh as part of its efforts to form a grand electoral alliance, sources said on Thursday.

The party had decided to take along all political parties and nationalist groups against the ruling Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), said Syed Ghous Ali Shah, president of the PML-N Sindh.

“The people of Sindh have become fed up with the PPP government and want to change,” he said while presiding over a meeting of the coordination committee the party had constituted for contacting opponent parties and groups ahead of a general election due in a few months.

Shah told the meeting, held at the residence of Mumtaz Bhutto, that the people knew that it was Nawaz Sharif who restored peace to Sindh when he was prime minister and now the party would again restore law and order and provide protection to the people. The PML-N had decided not “to leave the ground open to the PPP in the coming election”, he said.

The members of the committee were unanimous in supporting the decision to form a grand electoral alliance to defeat the PPP in its stronghold, Sindh. They also agreed that political reconciliation should be used as a weapon against the PPP.

The meeting expressed satisfaction with the pace of contacts with political and religious parties and nationalist groups for the formation of the alliance.

The meeting was briefed about the outcome of the meetings with the Jamaat-e-Islami, National People’s Party, PML-Functional, Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl, Sunni Tehrik and Sindh Taraqqi Pasand Party.

The committee, which comprises Liaquat Jatoi, Imdad Chandio, Ameer Bux Bhutto, Irfanullah Marwat, Ali Akbar Gujjar, Marvi Memon and Zain Ansari, also chalked out a strategy for the talks with other political forces in the province.

I don't think this is going to happen, as they already clearly shown their election strategy long long time back. This story is wrong or cooked up. Also this would be suicide for PML-N and their moral values for which they went and stay out of government just after 3 months.

NS may be fool, but not that much.... So MQM, ANP and PML-Q are out of question..

It is illogical to even think that MQM is doing all this. I mean why would MQM want their stronghold to be lawless region? It isn't like MQM going interior Sindh or Balochistan & killing PPP guys or making troubles in KPK the ANP stronghold? Even you don't have to tell me...a Karachiti...anything, i can just give you one example, in Gulistan e Jauhar(mostly in the area between Pehalwan Goth & Bhittaiabad) if you are constructing your house ANP goons from pehalwan goth & PPP goons from bhittaiabad comes & demand bhatta not one time but multiple times like after digging for pillars, after completion of rooftop...etc etc, if you hesitate they give you even death threats. You can confirm this if you have relative in that area of Karachi.

P.S lets not make it into another MQM bashing thread & concentrate on topic.
