What's new

PM orders two mega residential projects in Islamabad for overseas Pakistanis

There was a term used by PoWs of 71 when they finally escaped out and through India - they did something in its direction.

Afghanis
It will benefit Pakistan though bring alot of investments

I know several Afghani traders who bought foreign nationality but would love to buy Pakistani as well as they have trouble doing business through legal means (instead have to use front man's)
Well then I say lets sell it.

Nope. Your community was brought to the U.K as a reward for being mercenaries of British army. This is a fact. Little did they know how nakamay you people are and I'm sure they regret it.
Listen, our community was not brought over to the UK. Actually, every citizen of the then Commonwealth had the right to live, work and settle down in the UK before the UK created Commonwealth Wealth Immigrants Act 1968! Any one from India, Pakistan, New Zealand, Canada(!), Australia and some African countries could come to the UK. PDF members need to understand this point

You are not Kashmiri, Kashmiris are Koshur people and mostly in the occupied valley with a small population in Punjab.

You are Pahari and ethnically related to neighbouring Jhelumis/Pindi/Hindkos. Essentially grouped with Punjabis.

No it wasn't. While other diasporas typically were educated or had something going for them before migration, they on the other hand were displaced from villages/rural areas for a dam project built by the British in return for cheap labour. They worked their asses off and many of them have large property portfolios.

And a lot of our Pahari brothers still live in occupied Kashmir, so Pahari people have blood relatives on the other side

That doesn't diminish their case for a free Kashmir whatsoever- they have been living in the administrative state of Kashmir for 100s of years so have the people who live IOK

Right…I agree with you I am Pahari. If so, please ask the Pakistani government to remove the name of Azad “Jammu and Kashmir” and name it Paharistan.

Once again, the dam was not a major factor for immigration. My grandfather came UK in 1953 and my father followed in 1960 when he was 5. Before 1968, anyone from Pakistan including Edevelop could have moved to the UK. Seems like he missed the boat, and is vending his anger on us.

Oh it's already being sold by beaucrats
How do you think they became billionaires

Dubai is mostly owned by Pakistani and indians corrupt beurocrats
You are right ...all our bureaucrats have foreign nationality and they are perfect fit for this scheme ..... lollll...all they need send money to their foreign account and bring it back to Pak account ...all is halal and well ..... پیسا حلال کرنے کا صحیح طریقہ

Yeah I agree, it should be named Paharistan, likely they don't want to add it onto Punjab due to political reasons. But name should be changed to avoid this confusion.

Also I think most were still from the dam displacement at the time, nothing wrong with that. It's actually an achievement to be from a rural village background and be top 3 in home ownership comparing to natives and an educated migrant class.

What people here don't realise is most of the Brit Pakistanis do off the books work, and don't declare their official income while try to cheat gov money at the same time... the situation is not what is seen on paper. Lots of things go undocumented.

What percentage are Paharis on the other side? 🤔 A minority or a significant portion?

And yeah agreed, the state is known as Jammu and Kashmir, it has never been exclusively inhabited by Koshurs but also Paharis.

Though I'd prefer to be in a state related to my ethnic kin for obvious reasons rather than distant Koshurs.

Overseas Pakistanis watch too much media and get easily fooled by political propaganda. Fact is if you have dollars, euros and pounds, you shouldn't give a fuk who is in government. Your quality of life or retirement life in Pakistan will be a million times better than western countries.

You are right. I know if/when I would have fallen on real hard times, I could live off the meager Social Security / pension of about $2300/month very comfortably in Pakistan. Right now, I am too young and energetic to retire.

A real account of life here in America--which for me is great but not for many others: A few days ago an uncle of mine here in America (through marriage) died. Despite working all is life--he did at age 81-- he was cremated despite being a devout 'Christian' and even being part of a church. The major reason for the cremation was the family unable to afford proper burial expenses: In 2013 someone close to me died (not blood relative) and at that time the bare minimum burial cost about $14,000. Imagine the costs now. And where I live, it is a rural area, meaning cheaper
So, as I mentioned the cremation of the uncle to my sister in Karachi a few days ago, she said: 'You give Rs.100,000 and they would bury you with proper rituals in the Gora Qabrastan in Karachi!!'.

It's not that expensive
Some people don't realize a lot of cost is inform of preparing the dead body..of natural barrial is allowed (Muslims plots will allow it) then the cost isn't more then 4-5 k even in cities like Pittsburgh

Family simply wanted to save money 💰💰💰

When I listen to songs from a Hazarawal and potoharI see a ton of love from IOK comments
There's probably a significant minority of Pahari, dogra, gojri people still under Indian occupation

Paharis faught a liberation war along with people of gilgit to be with Pakistan - Kashmiri brothers didn't wanna go all out and are suffering

Thats why it pains me when some red flag nationalists fools insult paharis, even though paharis are proud warriors who took the opportunity and liberated thier lands
