What's new

PM Nawaz Sharif will meet with imran khan today

but what for just to get scapegoats?
if 2mmraow all the dam peace talks falls down , then all the blame will be on, PTI?
its all win win, to nawaz?
More admiration for him then. If anything, he has then played the PTI as total fools. If the talks do break down because of the Taliban attacking again.. he can call out those that supported the talks and say that their hands are soiled with blood. Needless to say, Nawaz is a seasoned politician while Imran Khan is a like a tape ball player who has just had his first debut match.

very complete post sir!

What if the result surprises you? There is still clear support for the ethnic cause as it exists very clearly now.
Moreover, the PTI has performed miserably in its single seat in Karachi.. most of the less fortunate areas of NA_250 are in total disarray and doldrums.. and will probably swing total MQM next elections. The elite and employed class count very rare as they have little "interest" in elections other than it being a social status thing.
True that Dr.Alvi has failed to give proper attention but the bold part of your statement is highly exaggerated. 250 has traditionally been the among the safest areas of Karachi.

My side is Pakistan. Pakistan First and Pakistan Last.

TTP will be routed and annihilated , InshaAllah.

You want me to join the Party of a Murderous Thug named Altaf Hussain on whose instructions my Cousin Zahra Shahid Hussain was Assassinated ? ( Not to mention scores of others including Icons like Hakeem Saeed ).

I would rather see this Ba$tard rot and burn in hell than be part of his Anti-Pakistan apparatus.

She taught at my school. Absolute gem of a person. I am sorry for your loss and the loss for the whole Pakistani Nation as a whole. I hope her killers get killed soon.

Imran Khan seriously need to change his mindset. Running a big country like Pakistan is not like running a hospital or cricket team.

You are telling someone who LIVES in the area. Please. Look at the confines of NA-250

The whole of DHA is well settled , well off people except perhaps in Ph-II ext and Ph-4 .. that too is relative. These people have their own connections, their own contacts.. and more essentially are administered by the DHA themselves.. they have NEVER been traditionally safe areas otherwise the business of security agencies and Alarm systems would not have flourished. The Clifton cantonment board as people who are of the three spectrum of middle class and upper class... these people have to run around to cantonment boards for their problems and rarely has Dr Alvi been spotted nearby nor has he changed a wooden broom in the system. Crime is rife here. The more troubled areas of Akhtar colony and Azam town have been completely ignored by Dr Alvi as they dont seem to exist for him. These places are essentially slums, they dnt have water or electricity and crime is rampant. These people voted for PTI except to find out that they got NOTHING out of it except more troubles than usual. Previously, they could go to a MQM office and get them to put pressure on the authorities to send a simple water bowser which was usually resolved quickly..now they complain of going to the PTI fellow who pushed for votes here and being told nonchalantly that their complaint has been lodged.

if PTI could not even look after the "traditionally" safe.. and generally well off areas who are in essence looked after by their own administration and complaint system.. what the hell does it think it can accomplish in the actual trouble areas of Karachi?

Imran was caught off guard. I think he was expecting some formal protocol meeting with the PM. However, the PM's "display" of humility and respect in this meeting left him with no choice but to come out with praise. Its a political checkmate if I ever saw one.

You cant blame him entirely.. despite being around for all these years.. PTI has been essentially irrelevant and mostly a photo session group who were never taken seriously. If anything, his initial attempt to come into power would have had more effect but the political sharks that were(and still are) at the time attacked him at his most sensitive vulnerable area.. his family. A move I consider downright dirty but this is politics. That did leave him scarred in both motivation and goals. Had the PTI truly arisen then, it would have been a greater game changer.. but since then it has been dormant and only now has come onto the field. So this is their first "match" so to say and they are learning slowly.

MQM office still works 24/7 and people of DHA and clifton can still seek help from MQM no problem

They are the ruling party in KPK. This is their chance to show they can do something. If they can't handle KPK, then yes their journey is over. Imran Khan needs to spearhead the dialogue with the tribals and make them believe that the violence in the region is not good for anyone. For that, i'd say Imran Khan is in a better position than say PML-N goons. His book in 1993 'The Warrior Race' was actually very good. Need to put some ideas into practice. Solve KPK and he has some hope of making inroads into Sindh and Punjab.

That they do. But even the MQM has chided the residents after they came. Telling them to go to the PTI since they voted for them.

Books aside, it has to be groundwork. I do see potential for PTI in KPK but that is because IK knows the local population and ground realities.. and essentially that is his land. In Lahore or Karachi.. he is out of place, he needs to compromise with people who are incapable of executing anything other than photo-ops. In that manner , PTI is as revolutionary as MQM was.. a party coming with a slogan of change and falling prey to compromises and criminals.

no i don't think so, the guys who maintain the office are the very MPAs and MNAs like irum farooqui and ali rashid, they are very nice people

if thats the case i'll take this matter to them and ask if they discriminate people based on votes

While i agree with some of your points there, i wouldn't call DHA 'un-safe' Been living there my entire life. Born and Bred. Never had any issues. No guards with us and no security systems.
The reason you see security guards and systems is because the affluent can afford it for their 'virtual' peace of mind that they are safe, they just get it anyway. People there have some serious incomes and social connections.

So have I. And I still think its unsafe. Nobody keeps guards.. but you dont feel safe when you stop at a signal on Zamzama.. or a signal in Phase-8. Cross a street in phase-6.. or park your car at Badr commercial. It is NOT safe. You carry on life, but you dont keep your guard down even in broad daylight. That ease of mind exists in Lahore's DHA.. not here.

The affluent do what the affluent do, but regular robberies throughout DHA and Clifton tells you that there is little resolution to problems. Moreover, there has been little attempt at fixing roads beyond DHA. If the PTI really wanted to accomplish anything, they would have. Having lived in DHA, you know there is really little need for a political party to push for infrastructure or anything as it all ends at the whim of the man whose house is next to Defence club in Phase-II. Its fauji property, they choose when to fix what...and generally do it when needed. So any political party or representative is only there for tea parties and Tambola.

The areas that would need political push are in Clifton and Azam Basti and Akhtar colony.. and they are in a worse off state because Dr Alvi cant be bothered to do anything or is even capable of it.

Not to mention the notorious Khaada market.......yes it is unsafe, but one thing i have observed is that all the crime there is done by people living in DHA itself. You tell me, how easy it is to buy a pistol and use it to snatch someone's car or bike? These people know they can get away with it and they do it. We have guns at home. Anyone barging in late night or morning, will be shot. No questions.
