PM Modi's Address at United Nations General Assembly

Thats like telling me just because the chances of a smoker getting lung cancer is less, theres no harm in smoking.
It makes no sense!

I am not against "make in India" ...but I do hope Modi govt. is able to implement it well.

Smoking is not unavoidable, but energy needs or traveling are, even if they are 'risky'. A more appropriate example for your argument would be breathing air or drinking water, water & air are two most common sources of diseases caused by bacterias or viruses, yet we need them fully understanding the associated risks, but we try to reduce the risk through modern technologies. Similarly, we cannot avoid manufacturing or nuclear power, at least at current situation, but we can try to reduce the risks by taking appropriate measures. :)

Yes it's true, let's stop exploiting the natural resources to maintain the ecological balance. Let's do away with the electricity as it's produced in thermal power plants which releases harmful gasses in the atmosphere, and the hydro power plants as it screws up the flora and fauna of the site where it's built and don't get me started with the nuclear power plants, 'ello .. Chernobyl anybody .... OMG? Those huge *** wind turbines which don't allow the pigeons carrying peace messages free passage to far off lands. Or the solar power plants which robs the barren land of much needed vitamin D. So Mr Modi, fcuk it ... how about let's "Not Make In India"
Ying to the Yang ... Bang Bang !!

The price of not balancing is just as bad.

Aaap yahan??

Err I am not sure if ppl like me would like to swap clean air for rotten air from the industries.

Frankly I am neither against "make in India" nor for it.

Few years back when I used to get down from train at amadavad station, there was a lots of polution and i used to find it difficult to breath. Today it is one of the cleanest city in India. The point is that we can keep our environment clean and simultaneously can be the manufacturing hub. After all all the manufacturing are not very pollution making. Electronics, Fabrication etc causes a little pollution where chemical production, Power Production etc are prone to pollution. There are ways and means to check pollution.

Then you dont know the family value of India... In our families, a father will eat only if he is in position to feed his entire family and people who are dependent (including servants)..
For the sake of the analogy lets keep it this way shall we. If you want to argue on that note I'll be happy to oblige....

Ubuntu card?
Can you please be more specific.
The Vasudhaiva Kutumbakum. Putting a new label on something doesn't make it a whole new philosophy. Its been around with the South Africans for quite sometime (Ubuntu Movement). In saying that I'm not claiming its a knock-off of some sort, perhaps separate. However, I also don't believe its little more than a nifty way to win over investment opportunists and make the rise of India more "swallow-able" on the stage, and I think others will also agree on this.

You must have had a bad sad childhood and some bully for a brother
The fact that you are willing to descend to an offensive personal level really tells a story of your own childhood.

Its a Sanskrit quote in India for thousands of years. That we are publicizing it now is something separate. Call it marketing if you will.

Dray lil while back one of my friend was giving me gyaan saying that Modi is making India the next China. We are doing what China did in the past to bring investments into their country.
Is that true??

While the innovation hub is fine, we need to employ 1.25 billion at a staggering rate of 12 million a year just to keep pace. We need industries.

But there is a twist, while we stress on industry, the make in India is more a manufacturing push than getting more industry.

i wish people could come up with solutions rather than just raising concerns about everything , modi promised jobs for youth in his election rallies and this is a initiative from him is to fulfill those promises not for some superpower race with china .

setting up new 100 smart cities is another initiative taken by him to ease the burden on our metro cities with respect to urban population , now how these cities don't turn into a concrete jungles is something we need to plan . Now its for us to decide weather we just keep finding problems with every thing he does or be a part of this process and provide solutions .

I am sure if we do a little bit research we will find many possible ways to deal with pollution without compromising on our growth .

We need more cities like Chandigarh and navi Mumbai.
