There is a huge difference in MBPS(Mega Bytes per second) and Mbps(Mega Bits per second).China and USA are thrice as big and still they have much much faster internet.
Also, the quality of internet sucks in India.
Operators like Airtel, Vodafone, Reliance etc are lying to the people about the speeds they offer, while charging full money.
To my fellow Indians, here is a test:
Take a 3G internet plan when you visit Singapore in case you are about to.
Note the site loading time for some of the heavy multimedia websites (not google.com usual test) and note the difference.
Have tested this three times on three different occasions and found that the 3G in Singapore is faster than 3G in Delhi.
How can that be possible when they are supposed to be the same product?
Quality is what our companies lack.
Most of these companies cleverly disguise it to make it look like they are offering us Bytes when what they really offer is Bits.
***See the fine print and the Asterik statements ***.
You will understand how they fool people.
