PM Modi smiles to Vande Mataram chants at UNESCO Hall in Paris

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said the collective goal of the countries in the United Nations is to seek a prosperous future for our world.
"Our collective goal is to seek a prosperous future for our world in which every nation has a voice, every human has a life of dignity," PM Modi said on Friday, the first day of his 9-day trip to France, Germany and Canada. Read: Modi's ceremonial welcome in France: Major pacts on the cards

Speaking on the 70th anniversary of the United Nations in Paris' UNESCO Hall, PM Modi hailed the UN body for making the world a better place. "We are grateful for UNESCO's support in preservation of our cultural heritage. India values the worth of UNESCO and cherishes our partnership," he said.

"I am conscious of the extraordinary legacy of our relationship from the time of UNESCO's birth," he said.




Before he began his speech, Modi was greeted by chants of Vande Mataram and Bharat Mata Ki Jai by an audience comprising of many Indians, which left a smile on his face.

French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius was present during the ceremonial reception accorded to Modi at the large courtyard of the seventh century Les Invalides, which houses a military museum.

The India-France CEOs Forum, which held a meeting on Thursday, is to present its report on the ways to boost bilateral trade when Modi meets French President Francois Hollande later in the day. After Modi and Hollande hold talks, a number of agreements are set to be inked.

In the evening, Modi and Hollande will go on a boat ride on the Seine river in a "naav pe charcha" moment. He will also attend a banquet by Hollande.

Vande mataram needs to be stripped from public use. I don't submit to your gau mata, you can vande her in private. Yindoos need to stop imposing their silly religious beliefs onto us sane rational people.
