It's not that far away as you're suggesting. Turkish government has officially shown keen interest and intention to join CPEC - the ultimate geopolitical-economic-strategic project in this part of the world. Already Arcelik has bought a Pak white goods company. As for the defense, Pak has been requested to join TFX program. MILGEM, ASELPOD, ATAK, MPT etc. are all in the pipeline - nothing is off the table. It's almost an axiomatic truth that whatever defense staffs Turkey produces ultimately gets into Pak hands. Many Pak TV serials have their shootings done in Turkey. It is just the beginning. IMHO, it'll grow exponentially over time...Well he is right when it comes to "importance to our future".
Geographically Pakistan is too far away from us. And we don't really have lots of political connections with you guys too.
There is friendship among the populations towards each other, but our relationships, apart from some military cooperation, seem to be all about it.
There is a reason our politicians are meeting politicians of Greece and Europeans, US and Russians far and far more than those of Pakistan, because their impacts on our economics, politics, cultures are far bigger than the footprints that Pakistan leave on them.
So I think he is being factually correct. Emotions alone don't create political and economical relationships. It is generally geographics that decides it and thus "geopolitics".
As for the personal level, Pak PM was an witness to the marriage of Reis's youngest daughter. At the opening ceremony of Yavuz Sultan Selim bridge over Bosphorus, Punjab's PM was present. Reis is proceeding with a plan and Pak occupies a central role in that plan. No wonder they sent the best SEAL and F16 proxies to kill him. Bring them on!! La Galibe Illallah...
