Before leaving for Delhi, Mr. Modi attended a reception for the Indian community and Sri Lankan officials.
During the visit, Mr. Modi announced that India would reciprocate e-visas on arrival for Sri Lankans and Air India would begin direct flights. However, restarting ferry services are still stuck in negotiations.
The special Air India plane carrying the Prime Minister and his delegation from Colombo landed in New Delhi at 30 minutes past midnight, according to Indian media.

A survey of more than 1,000 men in India has concluded that condoms made according to international sizes are too large for a majority of Indian men.

The study found that more than half of the men measured had penises that were shorter than international standards for condoms.

It has led to a call for condoms of mixed sizes to be made more widely available in India.

Wickramasinghe had alleged that Indian fishermen were taking away the livelihood of Northern Lanka fishermen. "If someone tries to break into my house, I can shoot. If he gets killed, law allows me to do that," he said.

As many as 86 Indian fishermen were arrested and their 10 fishing boats seized by the Sri Lanka Navy for allegedly poaching in the country's waters in February.
