Sir how do a stance changes without changing a objectioned fault ? How come a project was against national interests but suddenly it becomes a national priority it only happens when someone feels that he is loosing his grip on power, Let me say our establishment diid a blunder to please Anglo American establishments they brought in their darling in power they thought they can lure both i.e China and America but things are not as , China have now very defined guidelines see they signed a comprehensive strategic agreement with Iran but not with us ! its to tell us some things and the rest of the world, 2025 is the year where Yankees are going to be cornered tightly and we need to make policies accordingly and Imran Khan never had any nor can have any trust from the Chinese deep state and establishment they have many times pointed out foreign element's especially the American elements in his cabinet and even they didn't allow them to sit in some sensitive meetings , this stent of IK is not going to impress China , Pak establishment needs to lay off this black mole and liability from their face as quickly as possible otherwise China have many many options and you can't survive in the region being as puddle of America and west , the future of Taiwan will tell you many things after 2025 or even prior to that ,
Dear Sir,
Your concerns are duly noted and appreciated but this world is much bigger and complex than any single country including China. In my view, Pakistan needs to establish beneficial bilateral relationships with a number of countries in the long term in order to make sure that WE have OPTIONS just in case - a new twist or turn materialize in the international stage.
WE should not be envy of China-Iran dealings because China-Pakistan dealings have been on a solid footing for many years; WE are getting CPEC; WE are also receiving support in the nuclear program spectrum; WE are also receiving support in defense applications (JF-17 Thunder; Ballistic Missiles; Warships; Main Battle Tanks; Artillery; Radar systems; SAM systems; vice versa).
Please take a look at the situation of North Korea. It has China and Russia on its side but not much else. This should not be our future.
Western hemisphere will not diminish anytime soon; it never has. It would be a grave miscalculation to rule out significance of this bloc in its entirety. WE do not have to make questionable deals with them, but WE have much at stake
by cutting them off in full for the sake of appeasing one country in the long-term. Even in the present, Pakistani economy is functioning due to IMF bailout program and this was inevitable. WE are in a debt trap type of situation because WE - as a nation - did not produce many sound leaders over the course of years. WE are a CONFUSED bunch lacking in foresight.
The world is sliding into another chapter of Cold War but Pakistan needs to chart its own course now. WE must strive to become a superpower actually and not be subservient to another.
Cold War is a cruel game in which two superpowers play PING PONG with each other with the added caveat that it is the lesser countries who are pitted against one another only to be RUINED in the process.
Previous Cold War brought much death, destruction and misery to the Islamic bloc at large. Pakistan also paid a heavy price in all aspects; our culture eroded; our economy became dysfunctional; corruption became widespread; terrorism eventually came. Reason? Because Pakistani Public could not make up their minds about what they desired for the country at large; communism (Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto; PPP) OR authoritarian (Chief of Army Staff) OR democracy (current). However, now much of the country seems to be FINE with democracy (PTI-led government is THIRD democratic government in a succession) - this is actually GOOD for the country. Pakistani Public have a SAY in the affairs of the country. This is an achievement in itself.
WE did receive some benefits for siding with USA such as being allowed to become a nuclear power, received F-16s which proved invaluable to PAF in the battlefields; TRADE (US remains largest EXPORT destination of Pakistani goods to this day); IMF bailout packages; Education and ICT reforms. However, US-PAK relationship has turned into the
one of mutual resentment by now. WE did not get Kashmir by the way - no country helped us in this objective.
In spite of all of the above; JF-17 Thunder has Russian engine in it. This could not be possible without the nod and goodwill of Russians. But Russia-Pakistan bilateral relationship is not blossoming anytime soon because of what happened in the past. Russia continue to EVOLVE and remain a significant player in global affairs regardless.
My point? DO NOT LOOSE HOPE.
WE are in a good position in the present - WE are on excellent terms with China and WE have delivered in the War On Terror regime as well.
Pakistan needs to consolidate on its gains, and move forward with a plan. Continue to work with China
but keep your doors open to other potential power players in the mix. WE cannot tell with certainty what will happen in the near-future, let alone in the distant future.
WATCH and OBSERVE global developments and become a PLAYER in the great game.
