PM Imran Khan turns down French President's call during media briefing meeting

Tell them to call in 30 minutes, I’m busy here; PM Imran on French President’s call

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday held a meeting with TV anchors and senior journalists where he asked them to give his team three months time to evaluate their performance.

During the meeting, French President Emmanuel Macron called Prime Minister Imran Khan but he was busy in meeting with journalists including Hamid Mir and other senior TV anchors.

Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua wanted PM to attend the call but PM Imran said, “I am busy here tell them to call in 30 minutes.”

I think PM should have taken the call as the French are not some banana republic but a major international player with a permanent seat on the UN security council, I am sure those "over pampered" journalists could have spared a few minutes of their most precious time for the sake of national interest.

A double edged sword. While a briefing with the local media and showing them importance over an international leader has its impact, so does ignoring a world leader.

Still, it would be better than a certain rumor about Gen YK who (rumored)reportedly was unable to meet an important emissary during the 71 conflict raging and Dhaka nearly lost because he was busy making The Madam sing according to General Rani.

He may have been :pleasantry: busy but he should have taken a pause out of his business, to take the call of French president.
We are friendly country, we may strike back but we surely not strike first.
Now we can kiss good by to the foreign assets of Zardari, which are mostly in France and surroundings.

France IS a banana republic at this point in time. Well, sort of. Been to Paris lately? It's marred by violence, trash and a sea of undocumented aliens. Macron's a self-proclaimed messiah of the liberal jews, standing all by himself for the "We need more refugees" cause while the rest of the EU goes the other way. If anything Imran Khan showed him is actual worth which isn't much because his political career is practically a joke.

if true the French should show a little professionalism and respect. Hope they don't start rioting in Paris over this lol.

Sure not... you can trust my words on it.

No it's not, but even for the sake of argument if we believe what you said.... still not a good idea to drop the line of a well wisher.

Let's see if IK remain busy, until some lowly Indian bureaucrat call him.

You can't just pick the phone and call PM of Pakistan. These things are done by mutual consent.
quite logical argument, but i wonder if French didn't knew the etiquette of diplomacy !!!

Core paris is as good as any third world city today. It's known to be the dirtiest and the most violent city in the EU for a reason.

As for his highness "Manu" aka Emanuel Macron, He's isolated on the EU front, even Merkel's seeing through the refugee-crisis and implementing serious laws against their previous policies. Same goes for the Italian Salvini whose gathered a massive following for his anti-immigrant stance. The only puppy still yelping for more ex-ISIS-male-dominant boat-loads of refugees is Manu.

IMO Imran Khan played the statesman's card by prioritizing people who actually hold a valuable opinion on the modern stage. Dig up Macron's past, it's a grain of sand compared to what IK had to go through to get to his seat. Macron on the other hand is the darling of the Elite jews of France and Khan's well versed in the art of defeating the jew at their own game. A little waiting game goes a long way as far symbolism is concerned.
