PM Imran Khan ‘puzzled at the cacophony' over Pakistan's exclusion from US climate conference

Who the fcuk cares

We need to look after our environment for our own sake

The yanks are a bit touchy then that's their problem, if they want a bitch to do their bidding they have India, we need to look after our own interests

American will prefer India lapdog becos they are bigger and financial more wealthy. US can have only one lapdog becos India and Pakistan can never co exist peacefully under US alliance.

It goes far beyond that. This is especially important in relation to Afghanistan as well. America is finding it hard to influence the current government.

We all remember the status of ' special allies of US' from war in Afghanistan days and how we were used and taken advantage of because the leader at that time did everything to appear white. NRO etc was also negotiated with by Americans at that time, corrupt elements were reintroduced in Pakistan society on America's whim ( they had investment in them).

In short they want a compromised and weak Pakistan that is not able to take a stance.

Are you illiterate or deliberately citing an incorrect quote?

Do you know what the difference is between being confused at something, and being confused at *a cacophony* over something?

“I am puzzled at the cacophony over Pak not being invited to a climate change conference!”
Khan doesn't care. You wish he cared.

Relax. Khan feels the same. The illiterate OP didn't read Khan's actual tweet.
Khan knows the patwaris dirty mindset so he never forget to tweet in urdu... Hope patwaris will better understand.... Also real meaning of cacophony are (رنڈی رونا)

The third world needs to stop seeking validation from Europe and America.

They do not have your interests at heart. Rather they will do anything to take advantage over you and keep you subjugated.

Just get a grip and get on with it.

You seem to be doing a great job with tree plantation drive....just continue without seeking approval from others.

This is called "slave mentality".

Not sure about the circumstances of other countries but this lot made a choice to be third world because they have been seeking salvation for millennia. Playing to the gallery in a different role each time, audience changes every few hundred years. Truth is unravelling the game played on them and there are enough of them who are awakening.

The fact their leader is beginning to compete on protecting the environment shows change is happening. This was never part of the dialogue just 10 years ago.

All I can say don't be the bogeyman they want you to be, they always wanted a structured moral decline to boko haram level thinking so everyone can point their f**king fingers.

As long as people like me are around we will make sure they are 10 steps ahead of the game. This is just the beginning of the comeback.

Who cares. No reason to tweet about it. Not being part of a climate deal is probably good for Pakistan.

previous president was born stupid
this one is loosing his mind due to old age, cant even climb the steps without falling three times.

Welcome to Biden's America. I hope that all our Democrat loving Pakistanis are happy.

Pakistanis in Pakistan and in US blindly follow indians aka desis to lick democrats feets. Republicans are more leaned towards Pakistan as they are more conservative and have military links. Democrats are haters of Pakistan and fully infilterated with indians.

After supporting Biden in US elections, that too at cost of various on going defense agreements.... IK has all the right to be confused over his exclusion like a fly from yogurt drink (a Punjabi saying).

Man these Indians are low IQ. Cant even comprehend what PMIK is saying.

PMIK is simply giving a big fat middle finger to these pet dogs of American deep state in White House, telling them that he is bigger then all of them combined and he has a track record and experience in dealing with climate change related issues. And clearly he is going the UN route which he mentioned in his tweet.

IK going to KSA in the next few weeks may be Pak accept Isreal then the situation will be a little different.

Misquoted he is not puzzled at the exclusion but rather at hue and cry about the exclusion. No big deal if we don’t get invited.

Well if they exclude us than f*** them, Why complain?
Agreed.

PM Khan is spot on in his judgement (agreed with him) but he should not have protested on Twitter [on his own either] - in my view. There are better and well-timed ways to protest. Opportunities could knock on the door of PM Khan at some point.

Biden administration ignoring Pakistan for Climate Change summit was insulting enough but PM Khan's protest on Twitter in relation is bordering cringe (unfortunately). He is good-hearted human nevertheless.

Pakistan could/can plan its own Climate Change Summit at some point. PM Khan shall consider this when feasible.

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Saturday said he was “puzzled at the cacophony” over Pakistan's exclusion from US President Joe Biden’s climate change conference.
“I am puzzled at the cacophony over Pak not being invited to a climate change conference!” tweeted PM Khan.

The premier said he was puzzled as his government’s “environment policies are driven solely” by its commitment to the future generations of a clean and green Pakistan to mitigate the impact of climate change.

The PM said that due to this approach, his government has taken initiatives such as Green Pakistan, 10 billion-tree tsunami, nature-based solutions and cleaning up of Pakistan’s rivers.

“We have gained vast experience in 7 years, beg with KP, and our policies are being recognised and lauded. We are ready to help any state wanting to learn from our experience,” said PM Khan.

The PM said that if the international community is “serious about countering impact of climate change” they can look at the priorities he has laid out for the UN Climate Change Conference 2021 — COP26.

Biden invites 40 world leaders in climate change conference, excludes Imran Khan

Last month, US President Joe Biden invited 40 world leaders to the Leaders Summit on Climate he will host on April 22 and 23.

However, Pakistan was the most notable omission from the list of invitees. The virtual Leaders Summit will be live streamed for public viewing.

The Leaders Summit on Climate will underscore the urgency – and the economic benefits – of stronger climate action, international media reported. It will be a key milestone on the road to the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) this November in Glasgow.

The summit will reconvene the US-led Major Economies Forum on Energy and Climate, which brings together 17 countries responsible for approximately 80 percent of global emissions and global GDP.

The president also invited the heads of other countries that are demonstrating strong climate leadership, are especially vulnerable to climate impacts, or are charting innovative pathways to a net-zero economy. A small number of business and civil society leaders will also participate in the Summit.

Leaders from India, Bangladesh, Antigua and Barbuda, Bhutan, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Jamaica, Kenya, Nigeria and Vietnam have been invited to participate in the summit, but not from Pakistan.

To the snub, Pakistan came out with a strong response asking for ‘inclusive cooperation’ to criticism that it had not been invited by Joe Biden to the Leaders Summit on Climate Change.

Defending its position on the importance that Pakistan gives to climate change, the Foreign Office pointed out that there was no doubt about the commitment to addressing climate change and Prime Minister Imran Khan’s leadership on this account is well accepted and appreciated around the world.

“Climate Change is one of the defining challenges of our times that can only be countered through inclusive, cooperative and forward-looking policies. Pakistan remains fully committed to play its due role in this fight,” said the FO.

It pointed out that The Leaders Summit on Climate Change hosted by President Biden reconvenes the US-led Major Economies Forum on Energy and Climate, which brings together leaders from countries responsible for approximately 80 percent of global emissions and GDP.

“The summit also includes representation from countries holding chairs of geographic regions and groups including least developed countries, small island developing states, and Climate Vulnerable Forum. Pakistan, despite being among the top 10 countries affected by Climate Change, is one of the lowest emitters - with less than 1 percent of the global emissions,” the Foreign Office added.

It also sent out a reminder that Pakistan is continuing to meaningfully contribute to shape the global climate change discourse, inter alia, as the vice president of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change and member of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.

“The government’s landmark initiatives like the Billion Tree Tsunami have won international acclaim, including from the World Economic Forum. Pakistan also co-chaired the multibillion-dollar Green Climate Fund, established to support climate actions in developing countries, last year,” added the Foreign Office.

Are you a retard? Can you understand what he was actually saying?

Well tbh he didn't complained but just showed the reality.
Also the title of the thread is misleading. It's "puzzled at the cacophony" over being left out and not puzzled at being left out.
The OP being neighbor from next door may have something to do with the misleading title. It's shame that majority fell for the trick without cross checking. Just check the article title on "The News" site that has been shared in the OP and see how the "at the cacophony" part in the title has been truncated to mislead. I even reported it but seems like Mods overlooked or didn't attend to it.

In short PM IK is saying that we are doing this for our self and don't need any validation, but the world can learn a thing or two from us and our experience.
