PM Imran Khan orders relief package for Thar

. . .
I don't know why the article mention 360 tonnes then, but if you open the link. it have a picture of a truck which mentions "40000 kg's".
40000 kg is too less for a gov to gift ..It may be 40000 tonne out of which first batch of 360tonne is gifted ..

40000 kg will be enough for 100 families for a year .. that's too low ..a gift worth of 8000$..On other hand if it's 40000 tonne then the gift is worth around 8 million $ which is more likely ..

Yah i guess so. But our media generally confuse things like million with billion, km with miles, etc.. maybe it IS 40K tonne

That's so true.. I am extremely angry on the decision of giving wheat to Afghanis.. when our own people were suffering..

Whose decision was that? Which minister? Or was it IK himself?

Well, apparently it was Abbasi's decision/promise which Ik just followed.
Now, whether it was Abbasi's own personal decision or Govt. of Pakistan's decision? I don't know.
If it was Abbasi's personal decision then IK should not have obliged it.
If it was Govt/State's decision then IK did the right thing obliging the promise.
(Through I still believe he should have found a way to withdraw from it)

Remember the story about Zardari and his 'manat' about 'Chadar Charhana' in some shrine in India if his wish/dua come true(of becoming president of PK proly)? Well, he did infact visit India on personal level, went to shrine and donated 1 million dollars(i think) from Pakistan's treasury not from his own account. He literally did donation out of Pakistan's account because his personal wish come true.

I still remember that news because I used to be a student in France at that time and there was another jiyala PhD. student friend of mine(on scholarship) who was supporting this move by saying what difference does it make whether money goes from Zardari's pocket or Pakistan's pocket. (Swab to milna hi milna hai). The guy is a professor now.

I don't mind charity but it begins at home. It's not abc vs xyz party thingy, it's our hungry vs their hungry thingy. Ours should come first, no matter whoever rules.
