PM Imran Khan likely to address nation soon

Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan has on Wednesday decided to address the nation.

As per details acquired, PM will take nation into confidence on the issue of extension of tenure of Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Bajwa.

For this purpose, the technical team has been directed to remain at standby.

Earlier today, PM Imran Khan stated that the federal government stands with Pakistan Army.
The premier made these remarks during a huddle of senior ministers.

PM told attendants that Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa was given extension against the backdrop of regional situation.

The premier and the attendants also review legal options in this regard.

Prime Minister Imran Khan was also briefed on the issue of extension of army chief by Attorney General (AG) Anwar Mansoor and Former Law Minister Farogh Naseem today.

The current system is absolutely flawed, I am not too sure if a presidential system will serve the nation any better, but no harm in my opinion if it brings better results, The sitting CJ is a disgrace, he could have utilised his powers for other more important priorities.

CJ has no business whatsoever with government appointments. They have assumed the role of executive.

It also raises huge suspicions against the CJ for taking up the coas appointment at last minute.com when officially army chief was nominated back in August, it would have made more sense to take action more appropriately.
