Heathrow one of the busiest airports operated with only one runway and currently operating with only one runway serving 5 different terminals whilst the 2nd runway is being worked on and 3rd runway being built.

If you give people jobs - based on who they know (Mamu/Chacha basis) instead of their qualifications, then organization, planning and execution will remain a pipe dream at Biman.
CAAB doesn't even know to bring in paid reputed consultants to improve operations on the ground air-side. When it comes to consultant, they bring in some typical dhokeybaaj dus-hazar rupiya consultants whose resume is not even fit to be used as toilet paper. And then pocket the rest of the money themselves, saying things are being studied for 'feasibility'. Rooprekha khotiye dekha hocchey!
Ground handling (customs and luggage logistics) is the first thing that needs to be improved to get people moved efficiently through the airport. Aircraft Traffic Control (ATC) is next. Both are in horrible state.
Can you believe these CAAB idiots let Kolkata Air Traffic Control make money for aircraft passing through Bangladesh airspace for the last forty years. Forty F*cking Years !! Indians will never return that money. I mean how stupid and f*cked up can you get being in control of CAAB??
I say - Let CAAB fire BIMAN for luggage-handling and hire a contractor like DNATA for that role, who are world-class. There was a plan once to do that, during the British CEO's time, but of course the corrupt Biman ground-handler's Union (mostly thieves) went berserk and demanded his removal. He finally got disgusted and left a few years later, after sunsetting the DC-10 service.
Unless you break the Biman Union's back and their corruption, nothing will happen.
I heard talk that these thieves even opposed the installation of CCTV cameras in the air-side (luggage) handling dept. but they did not succeed. Eventually they paid off the watchers of the CCTV's and all was good.
Things have improved some in the last decade, but not enough.
Can you believe - these Biman Luggage Handler Thieves don't do their jobs properly, and on top of it most of these scumbags are parts of gold and cellphone smuggling schemes along with Biman crew.

Indira was the most educated and well-groomed PM/politician/leader India has ever had (bar Manmohan Singh and some others), but some of India's uneducated did not deserve her (Good for other neighbors that they put an end to her rule).
