PM Hasina indicates she will retire after the current term

his cousin on the hand is another matter...
Indeed Tulip is mature polician as she is a British MP. But will she leave UK to lead AL? Since her husband is British? But well yes if we really have such political leader who is already an MP of British parliament , then it is a very good sign, but I doubt it.

She will not come to be AL chief IMHO. But if she really lead AL in future, at least she can be a worthy successor of sheikh Hasina. Or Hasina can create better leadership in AL before her retirement, if she wants to see her party in right track after her retirement .

Because as I said, other than Hasina no AL leader is capable to lead the party successfully yet .

I have seen this Joy making speeches only in the Seminar Rooms American style. It is quite difficult to become intimate with the mass unless he is brought up like that. Hasina has almost that kind of upbringing because of her father but not Joy and also Begum Zia.
What about Tulip? Do you think that she will come to lead AL if Hasina request? After all Tulip is a polician from a developed country so she could be a mature and tolerant political leader!
What say you? @bluesky

Joy? But he is not directly active in politics ! So how can he suddenly take his mother's place ? Please elaborate.

But well yes joy is highly educated man, so he will do better I think if Bangladesh can move to gentleman's politics.
@bd_4_ever
just like royalty is "god's given role to their blood".... joy will end up being the leader... and you'll certainly see him cry a sacrificial goat's theme song for the sake of his country... but no one would just be a countries leader if there was nothing in it for them...

The bark of one tree does not fit to another tree. A person born and brought up in a civilized London may not fit to an underdeveloped BD though she has a cordial relationship with her electorates from the Sub-continent who have voted her to the Parliament.

Living in a developed economy causes a person not to know about the process of national economic development of an impoverished country. So, Tulip may not fit. But, who knows unless she ventures into BD politics. I think it will not happen.

I feel very proud of this.

She brushed away half of the old cabinet and no one complained. Now she offers her own career in a show of fairness. This is a wonderful demonstration of the gentle and fair Bangladeshi sensibilities - which are an example for the the region.

It will be a shame to end a stable run - its better to prepare for change early and I hope the next bunch can keep it going.

If she does decide to retire from power she should handpick a successor from the current cabinet, and make sure that the party supports the candidate. She should also create a post for herself as a minister mentor(like lee kuan yew). These two things will help prevent infighting over her succession as she will still have some power over AL decision making while transferring power to the new leadership.

Honestly i doubt she will retire though, she has full grip on power from the military to the judiciary. But she might want to quit playing while ahead. If she does retire now, she will go down as one of the greatest leader in bd history. If bangladesh continues to prosper as predicted on the current trajectory, she will remembered as the one who laid the foundations for prosperity. If bangladesh fucks up, people will look back at her rule nostalgically.

No.

Need Hasina for another term after this. To burn the certain haters. Love it how Hasina and her gov burns them, they feel enraged whatever Hasina does and try trolling her because she doesn’t support them. They’re certainly triggered big time by Hasina ji :yay:

The More I see them trying troll, messaging in ignoance and nasty hate towards Hasina, more I’m starting to support/like her even more now. She’s a deeni, practicing Muslim and reads Quran daily. Whereas the other one? Lets not even go there and her habbits with certain beverage (May Allah forgive her). But still some haters from an ignorant country with the lowest IQ in South Asia still say nasty things regarding her and being Modis this and that. Have some shame! She’s a Muslimah and old enough to be your mom, aunty, dadi/nani. Disliking ones policy is fine but trying to abuse them and attribute them in such nasty unlawful ways is haram.

Here’s hoping Hasina stays on :-)
