I would like to draw attention of readers here to the some facts from past and hopefully may present the picture with an example of our past coalition, for better understanding. No rebuttal or criticism is intended but a presentation of my view and observations in this subject.
The era of our coalition with US & West during cold war against USSR is open and clear to understand for everyone. Indeed we were then called non-NATO ally but for a specific purpose. We made a bond of friendship for the purpose of US & West alone to counter USSR in this region which was growing tension for US & West but indeed relates to our security and sovereignty as well. Pakistan stance was rightly defined in that time that countering the USSR was also in favour and we decided to take the best advantages in such opportunity. However, we lost more than we catered. Even till today, we lost many precious lives and sustained an economical damage that we are still striving to overcome. We have been aided in many forms during the same coalition and are still benefiting from the fruits though to the extent, not very happy with it or minimum against our efforts. Pakistan fully participated in the war and strengthened itself in the field of defence as well so also had hand over F-16s etc. This coalition on one hand brought us funds from US & West but also dragged us into a war that we are still fighting against. While looking at the picture, it is appearing as we lost most and gained less, in short. This coalition was all alone against USSR invasion which fulfills the needs of US & West most and some of ours as well which we are still aided against and fight is also still on.
On other hand, the Islamic Coalition is totally a different subject which is based upon fight against proxies & terrorists or any threats to these participating nations, in this coalition. Now, to the some people, the observations are like we are unnecessarily be dragged to fight someone else fight. As per my observations, this time, such coalition is totally different than the coalition being formed back there against USSR only. Being an Islamic country, it is our responsibility to praise and participate from inside in this coalition as well. It is a must for us to protect our holy places against such adversaries, being member of this coalition with the help of all Muslim Nations. This coalition will not just strengthen the brotherhood of Islamic world but would indeed benefit us in long term as well but calling this as a paid mercenary job, is not the justice with it at all. We have been in coalition with US & West against USSR and can be called paid mercenaries from one side of the picture but on other side, it was in our best interest as well. So the situation of region and proxies rise within M.E, once again indicates that Pakistan should not try to stand aside posturing as neutral that may leave us alone in this situation but indeed participation in such coalition with full zeal and most of all with FAITH, will benefit us. The most of the anti-Islamic elements will try hard to defame such coalition with any monopoly or conspiracy but this brotherhood should be formed as a need, today or in future indeed In’Sha’ALLAH. Arab countries have been supporting Pakistan on many occasions with every mean of source that they could and it is not a secret but an open truth though the some deluded minds in the love of US & West may not let it to be clear to the people.
ISIS is getting stronger than before with the help of proxies’ lovers indeed and in short, I would draw attention to the recent encounters of Taliban with ISIS in Afghanistan. This is not mentioned here to support Taliban but a little effort to the few that may understand the situation. Pakistan is indeed helping US & Afghanistan for peace in Afghanistan with the help of China as well. To the some sources, Russia is helping Taliban not just to repay the favour but indeed to counter the growing ISIS threat in the region. While looking at the few strategies, in my mind, firstly it is better to support the one who is enemy of my enemy. Pakistan alone cannot deal with such proxies and it is a truth because a power like US and West as well couldn’t eliminate such threat even after a long fight with no expiry date yet. Such coalition will also help reduce the threat in this region as well.
Such coalition will not just help to build a stronger block against any threat but also would be helping to grow our economy. Pakistan will indeed share its huge experience of WOT even after being low in equipment, with countries within coalition and such sharing will not be free, not just because we demand money but as per the rule of business as well. Arab countries are promised with same strategy and are assured in other words as well. Pakistan is not going to fight someone else battle but will help build and share awareness of tactics based upon experience. As per observations, it wouldn’t be like Pakistan is sending a huge number of troops for fight but as per convenience and availability for training & sharing and in return it will be benefited as well. Arab world has the equipment and their militaries are indeed stronger in this subject but while looking at the expertise, Pakistan leads the way and everyone praises the same as well.
Participation in this coalition and the benefits should not be counted as aid or fund here because, it has to do more about brotherhood or at least it is far better coalition than the bond of US & West because this is also about Islamic world. It is always better later than never. Islamic brotherhood might be panic to the some but I am sure, it will strengthen the Muslim world as well will help get us together on a platform with mutual understanding and interests. If anti-Islam elements can get together working on their evil agenda then this coalition is must and should be stronger than ever. Indeed we have a bitter past with respect to these types of coalitions but this time it appears to be more valid and strong within it while looking at the dedication of Muslim nations and the adversaries that all of us are facing. The past has taught a lesson and it is revealed that many of us have learnt enough so the importance of this coalition is being considered. To the some observers, it has been expressed that it is just about save the crown but I doubt that as whomever the nations are participating, have clear intention and goals and understands well that what they are looking for.
In the meantime, Pakistan should work and arrange a better economy which will ultimately minimize the demand of so called funds or aid etc. A stronger economy is must and should be without any doubt as without it, prosperity wouldn’t come. Our main goal and interest should be the stronger Pakistan starting with growing economy that will eventually result in a greater Pakistan and nation. Depending upon funds and aid is neither feasible nor beneficial in long run and should be considered as a gap fill but stronger economy will result in long lasting fruits for betterment. Our current position in respect of growing economy and many projects indicates clearly that all we need in first place is to take steps wisely and path is set all there. In’Sha’ALLAH Pakistan will rise and shine and being an atomic power is respected among Muslim countries as well so the same validates our importance more in this coalition. Pakistan is not going against Russia etc by this coalition as we know that where, how and what to play. This is not like we are going to nuke someone or to utilize our N power but indeed the research and advancement in this field alone will help many Islamic nations for their advancement in the field of science. Pakistan is not going to be the reason of N distribution and neither it is intended at all or being demanded yet by any Arab nation from Pakistan. In this coalition, Pakistan should play the part from inside and will be benefited as well and from current interest, seems feasible. Pakistan has indeed viewed all the right and wrong in this regard so also is aware of the results or possibilities and seems like it will benefit us not as aid or fund but indeed for the services that may start with training and sharing experience and further on. The equipment of Arab world will not just benefit us but would be indeed available in case of any dire consequences so also will be helpful to strengthen our defence by additions of required gadgets. If a NATO type coalition can be made so this could be done as well in Islamic world which may help every participant or member to buildup a stronger defence as well, as per capability and skills. This coalition would be more like a group helping each other as per skills of every single of them which will ultimately help grow all of them. This coalition will not just help build stronger defence but indeed will be feasible for economic ties and more business yet is visible in shape of CPEC in case of Pakistan.
Hopefully things will turn into something better and Pakistan will play its role wisely and smartly while bringing the prosperity to this nation and Islamic world as well In’Sha’ALLAH.
