PM: Armed Forces to be strengthened to protect sovereignty

Well BNP is responsible for this and not Al . If BNP would not destroy BD , AL would never last such long .
maybe most of my PDF compatriots will agree , but BNP is always bigger political party than Awami league , as most of voters of BNP used to vote Muslim league or another parties of East pakistan .
BNP made alliance with a salafist type party named jamat Islam and started tagging AL as kafir party , so AL had no other option But to choose the path in order to counter opposition .
The reality is different . look at our qaumi madrasas ( deobandi ) , they never had bad relationship with AL , and Al has been always the finest patron of such madrasas , and recently the chief of hefajat i islami Bangladesh Mufti maulana Ahmad shafi said that their madrasas were always financed by God fearing AL folks , so tghere will be No harm if you keep supporting AL. So if AL is supporting India then Actually Jamati propaganda is the main reason .
Soon AL will be freed from Leftists swines , and deobandis influence will be increased .
Let us recover and you will not have to read such news anymore .

And by the way , where you guys when we were buring in BNP jamati petrol bomb in 2014-015?
if BNP is now suffering , suffering for their sin . BD folks are now much more matured and will not serve the purpose of any single person named Khaleda zia to fill her and her son's bank with the blood of Bangladehsis . But they ( we) will wait and we will also judge Al ( for some sycophancy of India )when the proper time will come .
But i still believe that as long as AL will have s strong base , they will no longer take Indian side . So we will wait for the future .
@Kambojaric

Wrong , I do not need elders for Bangladesh . Neither India nor pakistan nor any other nation can say what do we need , or what not.
You have zero Idea about our folks so you had been making plenty of mistakes since 1947 to 1971 , resulting our freedom war and we separated .No argument please , my intention is not to show Pakistan bad , I said it because of defence related issue as you guys that time too thought that Eastern wings defence lies on west , so I said so )

Now it looks you still ( after 47 years ) do not know the reality of Bangladesh . We need force more than pakistan for our self defence . Because Pakistan is not surrounded by hostile entities , but we are. So elite military should act as breath of Bangladesh .

Your remark shows that you either have zero idea about what war is , or you play call of duty type game too much and believe That war is like this. Or maybe inspired by troy Type movie where one hero will defeat entire enemy army .
The reality is
we are most unlucky and listen sir , neighbours only honor the strong , so if we can not be strong we will lost repect . Already several Indian politicians made unacceptable remarks against Bangladesh , and if you live in reality , how can you even think that we are lucky because of our neigbours?

it is already answered . Do not fall prey to indian propaganda . Do not pay attention to Indian f.uckers of this forum, nor to the media as regional Media is under control of Indian sycophant Leftists .
We need much stronger and well equped army to keep India at bay . India has annexing tendency and civilians may vote against annexation , but can not stop it . Only strong military can prevent annexation . Do not forget the jew -roman war , how 1 million jews were defeated by 30 thousands of Romans.
So does not matter how we shout , in the end only a strong military can save your butt from hostile neibours .
But as you said that India is our sweet neigbous , so I am amazed . How pakistanis can even consider India as a sweet neigbour for another country , that they do not need force to protect themselvs?
@LoveIcon

Dude, India have let you focus on your economy and development for 47 years. They will be idiots to annex Bangladesh which will double their Muslim headache. Same is the case with Myanmar, why they will try to annex country which will turn them into minority? Only threat to Bangladesh for foreseeable future is predictions of environmentalists about rising sea level. Yes, Bangladesh's geography is blessing, you can continue spending on your development without worrying about defense.

. . . . .

I am not saying that Miyanmer will try to annex us . But in future they will try to fight us.
However India is also unable to annex us that's true , but surely India can harm us and will harm us whenever they have chance.
Do not overlook the border killing . How many pakistani shot down by those bfs f.uckers and how many bangladeshis are shot down?
However war is not only physical war , but recent days wars are proxy wars. India already annexed us culturally , we are losing our own culture and it's replacing by indian culture and that's not a good sign . This govt is kowtowing and imposing Indian culture . All are because of our week bloody politicians .
And keep in Mind , if you have strong army , bloody politicians will remain more tamed . Since our politicians are hypocrites so they dare not to offend military . A strong military is necessary for Bangladesh in order to tame those politicians . Look Miyanmer crossed our border line several times , and we saw our response with flag meeting .
If Army will be more powerful, politicians will be tamed , and it will benefit bangladesh undoubtedly.

Dude, India have let you focus on your economy and development for 47 years.
another wrong statement . India always created chaos in our country .

.
No sir, what I have said is factually correct. Bangladesh is not Malaysia yet and again Malaysia also has geopolitical significance, as does Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong and South Korea. I hope you are good in history , you would know the importance of all these countries and why they progressed so quickly.

Pakistan has 100 problems you can criticize Pakistan as much as you want, that doesnt change the status of Bangladesh. Bangladeshi members here have started attacking Pakistan, as if that would make any difference to their status in International community.

I'm not trying to criticize Pakistan. In fact, I would say I am pro-Pakistan.

But you trying to belittle Bangladesh is as irrelevant to reality as the ones here trying to aggrandize it.

Rather than try to cut each other down, perhaps we should try to lift each other up.

Kargalar bile guler - even crows will laugh!!!!

After losing her entire family to the members of the BD army, does she have the guts to have a strong BD army to begin with???? Under her watch the entire command structure and their family members of the para-military forces were subjected to Gujrat/Modi-style pogrom (maim, rape, kill, burn etc.) for days in and days out!!!! The entire BD army were just silent on-lookers!!! And, thus she taught a lesson to the disgruntled folks!!!!

"Touching Hasina is equivalent to touching India" - Pranab Mukerji, the Indian FM during the BD army officers killing episode described above, at the Indian parliament!!! And, they moved their air borne commando units from Agra to the West Bengal bases bordering BD...

*Egypt gifted some Russian tanks to BD during the rule of Mujib. Those tanks were used in his elimination along with his entire family minus 2 daughters who were outside the country. Hasina is one of those lucky ones.

**IA Chief Field Marshal Manekshaw advised Mujib to disband the BD Army, but he had an inflated ego and thought that all BD folks are mortally grateful to him for curving out BD for them. Hasina has learnt from the "mistakes" of her father. Not to mention the elaborated and in depth training she received from RAW during her long stay in India from 1975 to 1981. Within "two weeks" of her return to BD, the Muslim President Zia-ur Rehman, an ex-Pak Army intelligence officer, was assassinated in a failed coup attempt.

Dude you are not that important that you would be involved in treaties. What is Bangladesh ? A third world over crowded country where floods wipe out the infrastructure every 5-10 years. You are not a nuclear power like the two giant neighbors, you have a miniscal armed force. Bangladesh for a typical Pakistani means nothing, you have similar value as does Nigeria or Sudan have for us. Bangladesh has no Geo political or strategic role in the world peace. Best you can do is feed your population.

I am sure its difficult to be from country whose member come here every day posting pics and lengthy articles to show the Bangladesh is progressing massively and all that shit yet nobody cares. I have seen you people trying hard to tel us that Bangladesh has beaten Pakistan and how your HDI is better than India. But nobody believes that shit.
"BD is the most successful RAW ops" - B Raman, Deputy Chief of RAW in his book "KAOboys: down the memory lane"

BD is a different story!!! At the absence of a Deep Nation and a Deep State, their hands and feet are tied and mouth is taped!!! The strategic situation is really in a dire straits out there!!! Even BD PM lives with a mortal fear with an increasingly narrowing room to maneuver...

Only threat to Bangladesh for foreseeable future is predictions of environmentalists about rising sea level. Yes
Rising sea level is not a unique threat for Bangladesh. It is predicted that 40 million Pakistani will be affected by rising sea level by 2060. For Bangladesh, the figure is 20 million by 2100 AD. But we have long term project to counter this threat called 'Delta plan 2100AD'. Under this scheme, we are spending 37 billion dollar within 2030 to strengthen our climate adaptation and sea level rise defence. Bangladesh is far ahead in climate change adaptation that other developing countries, a fact recognized by UN. But I do not see any Pakistani response to counter the threat of sea level rise on it's own shore. It seems, Pakistanis do not believe, sea level rise will harm them, it will only harm Bangladesh. That's why they discuss it like it is a unique problem of Bangladesh only. Why is that?

She made the statements after inaugurating 'Bangabandhu Complex' of Bangladesh Air Force Academy in Jessore

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday said the armed forces should be equipped with modern technologies to be prepared to protect the independence and sovereignty of Bangladesh in case of any attack.

She said: "We don't want to engage in war with anyone...but if there is any attack, we will be prepared to keep Bangladesh free from enemies and protect our independence and sovereignty. Our goal is to equip our defence forces with modern technologies accordingly."

The PM made the statements after inaugurating 'Bangabandhu Complex' of Bangladesh Air Force Academy in Jessore, reports UNB.

She also unveiled the plaque of foundation stone of Biman Sena Training Institute of the Air Base Zahurul Haque in Patenga, Chittagong, and formally inaugurated the activities of its 105 Advanced Jet Training Unit via videoconferencing from Jessore.

Sheikh Hasina said, the Father of the Nation's policy was "friendship to all, malice to none," adding, "We still believe in this policy."

She urged all members of the Bangladesh Air Force to work competently, with confidence and self-esteem for building a modern and prosperous country.

"I would like to tell all members of the Air Force that only self-confidence and self-respect can take a nation forward. Honesty and competence will embolden us in every sphere.”

The Bangabandhu Complex was constructed with modern facilities including the scope for providing training to 600 flight cadets at a time.

Besides, there are eight laboratories, and hangars for 30 aircrafts under the complex.

Earlier on her arrival at the Air Force Academy, the Prime Minister was given a guard of honour by a contingent of the Bangladesh Air Force.

Air Chief Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat was present at the ceremony.

You can be rest assured that, nobody in Bangladesh are bothered by socalled ''geopolitical significance'' of Pakistan. Quite contrary, Pakistan is considered in Bangladesh an uncivilized, barbaric, troublemaking country from whom we should maintain distance. This is the common consensus among the influential educated class in Bangladesh. Main problem here is, since Bangladesh started warming up with India and prosecuting the 1971 war criminal, Pakistani posters here started abusing, cursing, ridiculing Bangladesh unprovoked in threads. You just have to look at this very thread. This thread was about strengthening armed forces of Bangladesh to protect sovereignty, no mention of pakistan. But you, yourself set a confrontational course of this thread in the post no. 2. So what do you expect? Bangladeshi posters here are responding such unprovoked attack from Pakistanis here. Check out threads here, most of the times this is the case. But Pakis like you, with infinite sense of self grandeur quickly assume that, it is because we are ''jealous'' of Pakistan for it's ''amazing geopolitical significance''. Which can not be any farther from truth.

Maintain your distance then ..wtf you doing on our forum

Foundation of Bangladesh is the very people of Bangladesh. Bangladesh exists for the people living inside Bangladesh.
Pakistan exists for South Asian Muslims...who might be shia, Sunni , ahmedi and whatever...
India exists nowadays for hindutva..
Bangladesh exists for the people of Bangladesh.

We Bangladeshis are the foundation of the country named Bangladesh. We wanted this country. We have this country. And we will take this country forward no matter what happens to rest of the world.

@Indus Pakistan

And then you decided to move to Stockholm? Lol

Abolish this 'Bangladesh defence' sub section, I will never bother to visit this place again. By coincidence, this sub section seems to be the most significant forum for discussion about Bangladesh defence with open membership. What I have found about the origin of large Bangladeshi presence here is that, during the earlier period, 2005-2010, this site attracted a horde of Indians, due to obvious Indo-Pak hostility things. Which was noticed by some Bangladeshi posters with extreme anti-India leaning. They started posting anti-India thread and debating with them here frequently. Generously enough, admin here provided us a wide space here by allowing a sub section. Which in turn attracted a large number of Bangladeshi like me who are eager to discuss defence, economy, foreign policy and all other matters of Bangladesh. It has nothing to do with ''obsession'' with Pakistan which is commonly assumed by Pakistanis here.
