This idiot is just increasing tax on people who area already paying tax.

Pmln was more focused on increasing the number of people under tax paying umbrella.

Bc kabhi article parh bhi kiya kro. Tax exemption are being withdrawn from SEZs stock exchange etc. No tax is being increased on poor people. Also when did poor people starting making enough money to be eligible for tax? Increasing tax revenue means increasing tax network and not tax amount.

As confirmation I can tell you that CAD , the only measure IK brags about ( all other economic indicators having crashed through the floor ) and the only measure that has shown improvement will now fall.
That is because IK had through various "schemes" was subsidising exports using loan money. IMF will not stand for this and you WILL see a decline in CAD from current levels.

What's the bad thing that yahoodi agent IMF is doing? It's literally asking government to increase revenue and withdraw tax exemption given to corporate / Industry mafia etc. IMF wants to make governments revenue to increase so that government doesn't have to take loans. It has been successful. Pakistans revenue is increasing.

I entirely agree with the first 2 lines; those living abroad indeed do not have a clue of what is going on and the effects of these decisions on the lives of the common Pakistani & that the idiots in power are continuously taxing those of us who are already overtaxed.

However, the last line of your post is incorrect; the cursed PML leadership too taxed only those who were already taxed and never bothered to increase the Tax NET.

Yeah too much focus by increasing the lowest tax slab from 400k PKR to 1.2M PKR per year - removing 800,000 tax payers from tax net. You definitely have not studied reports about what they did to economy.

Was that really such a bad move? Do you think those who are earning 100k/month should be paying 10% tax on their salaries? This despite the fact that these same people are paying GST on almost everything and yet have to pay Tanker/Mineral Water Mafia for water (both drinking and tap), private hospitals and doctors for medical care, private schools for the education of their children etc.

I assume that you are in UK; if that is the case then do you pay for tap water? for education of your children? for medical attention? what happens when you lose your job, does the state NOT support you? Do you have to pay bribes to the LEA's to get routine work done? Does your council not ensure that your are is clean, green and proper (including roads)?

Well I am unmarried but lemme answer your question as I live here my parents..

Yes we pay Water Bill..


Education up to College is free but depends upon income and age.. over 21s usually have to pay if they do college courses..


Medical attention like getting checked is free but you might need to pay for medicine again depending on your income.. one thing to note check-up seem free but everyone here pays National Insurance from their income which Runs NHS but its like free as you dont have to pay huge sums...

If you lose job you can get Benefits which can help you..

And no bribes

And yes council does and it gets paid council tax for that..

Overall people in simple words pay 4 taxes (there might be more too)

1) Income tax if your income exceeds 12k pounds per year
2) National Insurance (Health)
3) Council Tax (Goes to Council)
4) GST/VAT (on stuff you but)

And then there are Bills like Water,Gas and Electricity as well as TV licence bill if you own a TV.

I pay over £6000 a year for local taxes i.e. Council Tax and Business Rates.
That not to be mixed with Income Tax and National Insurance Contributions for Class 2 and Class 4.
Plus pay for Pension contribution, medical insurance, yearly advance payment for medication, bcoz I need medication for high blood pressure and Cholesterol etc. It is more expensive if i buy £9 per medication with each prescription.

During all the Covid-19 period didn't apply or received a single penny of Furlough payments or help with the business.

Agree. In the Western Democracies, that's how system works. The state spent from the taxes is received from people , period.

I see in Pakistan, people with huge shops with sales running in thousands of sterling daily paying no taxes. People charge Sales Tax but have never paid it to the state.
There was an interview done by Mir and Warriach from Nawaz before 2008 election, in which the corrupt thug answered a planted question that he pays only few thousand rupees in taxes. Which should have been income tax on his personal sources of Income.
The thug said, people have created these false narratives that we pay only few thousands in taxes. Last year we paid "billions" in sales tax.
The two criminals masquerading as "Journalists" kept quiet, because they asked a planted question to give the impression to the uneducated public that Sharifs actually pay billions in taxes.

The fact of the matter is, Sales Taxes is deducted from the customers on State Behalf and it is state's money, you are paying to the state, you are not paying any taxes, you are collecting taxes from the customers for state.

Can you imagine, someone saying this shit regarding VAT in the UK or in Europe!!
I used to interact on personal level with most of Pakistan journalists at the time of earlier elections. I just realise these scums are not journalists, they are not honest people either.

2. Throw trash wherever they want
3. Direct sewerage pipelines into rivers

When you compare that to the taxes in Pakistan, can you not see the severe injustice here? We don't get any of the things you mentioned above despite paying very high taxes. We neither get tap water nor drinking water yet we have to pay tap water tax; we pay for uninterrupted and clean electricity but so very often we face power outages, frequency mismatch, under/over voltage, phase dropouts which damage our electric products and because of which we also need to get UPS and/or Generators...and we get very high electricity bills; we pay our taxes and yet we need to pay for private education; we pay our taxes yet we have to pay for medical attention and there are no benefits if one loses his/her job. On top of that we need to pay bribes for basic municipal/government works.

So, as someone already said, those who live outside have no idea what we Pakistanis go through. On top of it all, there is a vast majority here who is single and not responsible for the financial expenditures of their household and hence have absolutely no clue what average Pakistani has to do to make ends meet. But let's just still continue to support Imran Khan blindly, it is the Pakistanis who live in Pakistan who will suffer, right? and for others it will be ammi and abu who will bear the brunt of this incompetent, corrupt and ridiculous band of misfits at the helm of affairs in Pakistan today!

Read my post above, why should the Pakistanis be expected to pay taxes when we get absolutely nothing in return? Although that you are right on some points above, it is the responsibility of the Government to ensure cleanliness.....even by law, if the citizens continue to litter. Besides, it is only the richest or the poorest Pakistanis who don't pay INCOME taxes (Businessmen mostly). Those who are employed get their taxes deducted at source. AND EVERYBODY PAYS INDIRECT TAXES ON EVERYTHING!
