Please help -- Computer Compatibility

I am not sure if XP can support RAM more than 4GB. You might need to get XP 64 bit. Plese Confirm before installing XP on more than 4 GB machine

Yeah I know, no matter how expensive they are, wireless mouse/keyboards always tend to get problems. Im planning to buy a USB one.
Buy iBall...its mouse works fine...

If you are upgrading computer with high requirements, then there is a chance that computer will heat up. I suggest you to purchase powersupply greater than or equal to 460+ watt and put cooling system in the computer, purchase extra fans.
If possible , get big chassis too

Hi guys, Im going to upgrade my PC and am planning to buy this hardware, but I don't know if these pieces are compatible with each other or not.
Please help,( I want a system that is windows XP n 7 compatible) -
Please reply ASAP guys, I am order it tommorow.

Intel DH77EB Motherboard
Seagate Barracuda 1 TB HDD Internal Hard Drive (ST1000DM003)
Kingston Hyper X DDR3 6 GB PC RAM (HyperX 6 GB Memory Kit)
Intel 3.3 GHz FCLGA1155 Core i3 2120 Processor
Forsa NVIDIA GT610 1 GB DDR3 Graphics Card
Logitech G300 Gaming Mouse (For PC)

I've upgraded last month and this is the configuration. DH77 Boards are expensive(or out of My budget lol!) so got DH67CL board(as 67BL mATX board was not in stock with My dealer).

Intel Core i3 2120 Processor
Intel DH67CL-B3 ATX Motherboard
Gskill Ripjaws 1333Mhz 4GB x1 DDR-III RAM
Intel 330 series 180GB Sata-III SSD(bought from USA)
Seagate 500GB Sata HDD
Asus SATA DVD-RW
Seasonic S12II 520W PSU
Coolermaster Elite 431 Plus Cabinet+ 2 coolermaster case fans
Logitech LS21 2.1 Speakers
Dell 104 key basic keyboard
Logitech USB mouse
APC 1.1KVA BR1.1 UPS

^^Upgrade is not complete yet. I will go for a Coolermaster Hpyer 212 EVO CPU Cooler and Yet to fix SSD to the system. GFX card am using a old XFX 7300GT as of now and will upgrade later.(not much a gamer). USB3 headers are missing in My board and am planning to get a USB3 pci-e card to fix front usb hub.

I will recommend You buy a SSD based on marvell controller : Crucial M4 as it is reliable and SSDs enhance performance. Intel 320 or 520 series are only available in India officially and expensive. HDDs with SSD(Hybrids) like Seagate Momentus will be a good buy.

Also, don't buy el cheapo Power supply go for Corsair VX series,Coolermaster real power or Seasonic,Tagan or even FSP and other reputed PSU brands. not iballs and Zebronics. go for a 550W PSU with Your configuration.
same with RAM- go for Gskill Rpijaws series or Corsair Vengeance performance RAM modules. I hope Kingston one You listed is good enough.

Cabinet with good Air Flow and Cable Management is a must. I cannot get NZXT Gamma or Bit fenix merc alpha locally(have to buy from Bombay) so, bought Coolermaster Elite 431 plus locally.

Happy Buying.

Can this work in laptop??
No, because of limited space. But you can replace fans.
Laptop computers naturally run hot (or at least very warm), and if they stay hot for prolonged periods of time they may overheat and cause serious damage. Whether or not you're experiencing the warning signs and dangers of your laptop overheating, the simple and inexpensive protective measures below will help keep your laptop cooler and make it work more reliably.
easy tips to cool a hot laptop
. Adjust your power settings from "high performance" to a more "balanced" or "power saver" plan. This will tell the system to only use the power required to run your applications, rather than always using the maximum processor speed; if you need to play games or other intensive work, you can switch back to the high performance plan as necessary.

2. Use dust remover spray to clean out of the laptop's vents. Dust can accumulate in and block the laptop's fan vents -- a problem easily solved with a can of compressed gas . Turn off your laptop and spray the vent to remove the dust.

3. Use a laptop cooling pad that has a fan or two. Laptop pads that have vents but no fans can also increase the air flow around your laptop and they're very portable, but for stronger cooling needs, a fan is the best way to go. For this test, I used a Belkin F5L055 but there are also several others selected by this site's previous guide that you can explore or you could even custom build a laptop cooling system if you're so inclined.

4. Keep your working environment or computer room as comfortably cool as possible. Computers, like most people, work much better in air conditioned environments. Most server rooms or data centers operate at 70 degrees or below, according to Server Fault, and that seems like an ideal temperature recommendation for home offices as well.

5. Shut down your computer when not in use, and especially when you are not at home. The last thing you need when you get home is to find out your laptop was a fire hazard (one of the dangers of overheating laptops).

Taking the steps above brought down the internal temperature of an old and dangerously hot laptop from 181° Fahrenheit (83° Celsius) to 106° F (41° C) -- a difference of 41% after one hour of using the active laptop cooling pad and bringing the room temperature down to 68 degrees.

How To Make a Hot Laptop Cooler

Yar look the alienware laptop. They are very sucessful even it contains very high graphic card, processor, Ram. It has own cooling system, new technology but i don't know what devil technology is inside it.

Plz tell me how to get powerful GPU.

My 1 month salary would go wasted, but really need to upgrade my system yar, these new video games require too much stuff.

If you are buying this primarily for gaming then don't! GT610 is an entry level gfx card and won't give you much horse power to render smoothly. Get a decent mid range card if you are tight on budget. You won't regret the upgrade.
That said, for basic word processing and browsing your system is ok.

If you are upgrading computer with high requirements, then there is a chance that computer will heat up. I suggest you to purchase powersupply greater than or equal to 460+ watt and put cooling system in the computer, purchase extra fans.

Poweresupply means SMPS right ?

yep this is true XP don't support more than 4GB

XP is a must. Seems I will have to settle with a 4 GB ram only.

Don't go for i3, go for i5 instead. As you're building a desktop, prices aren't that high.

Yar i5 is quite expensive, atleast 3000 rs expensive than i3.

Intel DH77EB Motherboard
Seagate Barracuda 1 TB HDD Internal Hard Drive (ST1000DM003) >>Replace this with Western Digital Black 1TB 32 MB Cache
Kingston Hyper X DDR3 6 GB PC RAM (HyperX 6 GB Memory Kit)
Intel 3.3 GHz FCLGA1155 Core i3 2120 Processor
Forsa NVIDIA GT610 1 GB DDR3 Graphics Card >> Get XFX Card instead of Forsa as XFX quality is usually much better then Forsa and other manufacturer.
Also, let's not forget that PSU is one of the most important component of PC so don't go for local crap buy branded PSU (Corsair, Cooler Master or any other good brand).Don't waste money on fancy keyword and stuff you should rather spend that money on GPU because no matter how fast your computer processor is..games will suck on your pc if you don't have a powerful GPU.

What is your total budget for this?

I just checked. This Hard disk is available only as an external hard disk. I need a internal one.

You might try XP 64 bit edition. It will support more RAM. Yes Power supply means SMPS. Though 4 GB is enough for most purposes , be sure to buy the RAM that matches your MB's FSB .
