What's new

please act now against Dalit atrocity in Khagaria.

^^^

Superkaif, the article itself says its about land encroachment, every village has tens of such disputes. About 30% of indian population is dalit, obviously they are going to be party to tens of thousands of such disputes. Its obviously a crime, and there is no question of supporting a crime, but what has it to do with minority blah blah blah???

Dalit are not a minority, sorry, but your BS is plain to see.

And what was that about lalu? You think he is dalit???

aaaaaaaah Fateh1 my BS is plain to see said the man that seems to post a tremendous amount of it all day. Firstly there is no need for personal attacks. You live on our forum posting constant poor quality off topic sh1te all day and when someone points out an issue in India you resort to personal attack? You hound like a pack of foaming dogs pointing out issues in our land yet cant accept issues in your own land? Why are you untouchable? Are you above criticism? Is their a law not to comment on issues regarding your incredible secular nation?
I wont lower myself to your level and attack you personally. I will say that it is a sad issue where dalits suffer atrocities of this nature in India and hope issues like this are experienced less.
Have a great evening fateh71. ;)

In that angry spiel I could not find you telling us how this is a Dalit issue when the article form a dalit rights site itself says its a land encroachment issue. Neither did you tell us how Dalits are a minority. So I take it you accept your mistake, a dishonest one, but a mistake nevertheless. Its good for an OBC like me when upper caste people like you are so nice.

You too have a great evening :lol::lol:

.
bihar and UP are notorious for such things that is why dalits are winning elections after elections, since they became empowered.
Crime against lower caste is negligible in Orissa. That is not to say there is no caste bias.
Crime against poor people happens everywhere in India, and dalit/muslim/christians are usually poor(in north India).

Govt have made special laws, so if you commit crime against dalits, you will get more punishment than usual.

Fateh71 obviously you are showing us all how you want to dance round this issue you have in your land. It is clear for all that took the time to read the article its a dalit issue. Women due to their caste are abused and insulted yet you cant see and fail to accept its a dalit issue. Either you are dumb or simply too embarrassed to handle the issue. I personally go for the latter but i could be wrong. Its understandable you are ashamed and wish it to dissappear - but sadly it wont.
I know you have a deep infested obsession with our land yet i find it surprising that you arent aware that we unlike yourselves dont have an issue with castes etc - we dont have upper and lower castes mate.
Dont worry mate - if you dont want to accept the actions of these men and dont condone it - its okay. It is futile to respond to a person that fails to see the issue that the rest of us INCLUDING Indians can see - so i will leave you to enjoy our forum.
Just am so so so so pleased that Pakistan was created and we can protect our women from atrocities of this nature.
Nite Fateh 71.

This is so sad. When I hear about the atrocities against these poor Dalits, then the more I'm convinced that these Dalits need to create their own homeland so they'll be safe from the holocaust they are facing today in india.

These poor Dalits did not choose to be born in the low caste.

.
Yes of course - if it occurred in Pakistan the Indians would have been on here in their dozens to condone it! Instead.............. silence.
I wish this sort of atrocity to never occur anywhere - shameful indeed.

You are too ignorant abt your country. Have u ever watched discovery / national geographic channels ??? Just see the Pakistan episodes they clearly documented abt slave workers facing atrocities which is committed by landlords ,Sardars etc. Try to speak the reality .

.
Firstly the Singhs of Khagaria are not forwards castes. They are Koeris and Kurmis, who come under OBC(Other Backward Castes).

There is always tussle between the Kurmis(OBC) and Mushahars(Scheduled Castes) in this region, mostly over the land which the Kosi River spits out every year after changing its course and after the flood water retrieves. Since its pretty much a no mans land, its a matter of who has the more muscle to capture it. And thats what this is about.

If I recall correctly, in 2009, Mushahars(Scheduled Castes) shot dead 16 Kurmis(OBC) in the same district over similar land disputes. So much for the oppressed people.

I am aware of the issues in my nation and yes indeed there is some sad situations that need need attention but to bring them up on this thread would clearly be off topic. The reality is you are off topic - if you dont have anything to say about this topic please refrain from posting on it. I hope the dalits get better protection from atrocities of this nature.

India Dalit woman beaten, paraded naked in Maharashtra

12 January 2012

Police in India's Maharashtra state have arrested five members of an upper caste for beating, stripping and parading naked a low-caste Dalit woman.

The victim was attacked because her son had eloped with an upper-caste girl about a month ago.

She has alleged that police initially refused to file a case saying such incidents were not uncommon.

The incident took place in Mulgaon village on Monday afternoon but reports of the atrocity have just come out.

The village in Satara district falls in the constituency of the state's Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan.

"The women pushed me to the ground, took off my sari and started beating me up with chappals [slipper] and a stick. They pulled my hair," the victim told a television channel.

She said the beatings continued for two hours.

On Wednesday, police arrested five people, including the eloped girl's parents.

Dalits, formerly known as "untouchables", are at the bottom of the Hindu caste system in India.

Although caste discrimination is illegal, biases remain in many areas.

Neeraj Kumar was found dead in a field

A low-caste Dalit boy has been killed in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh for sharing a name with a man of a higher caste, police say.

They said Neeraj Kumar's father Ram Sumer had been asked to change the names of two sons as they were the same as those of Jawahar Chaudhary's sons.

The body of Neeraj, 14, was found on 23 November in a field. Two friends of the Chaudhary family have been arrested.

Mr Chaudhary denies the involvement of his family in the murder.

He says the family is being framed by police.

Dalits, formerly known as "untouchables", are at the bottom of the Hindu caste system in India.

Although caste discrimination is illegal, biases remain in many areas.

Strangled
The latest incident took place in Radhaupur village in Basti district.

Both Ram Sumer and Jawahar Chaudhary have sons named Neeraj and Dheeraj and that has long been an issue between the two families, Sub-inspector Praveen Kumar said.

Mr Chaudhary, who belongs to a higher caste, had given several warnings to Mr Sumer to change the names of his boys.

On 22 November, Neeraj left home after dinner to watch television at a friend's house. His body was found the next day.

Police said he was strangled.

Mr Chaudhary's sons - Neeraj and Dheeraj - are missing, but police have arrested two friends of the family who they say had a role in the murder.
