Play national anthem in all cinemas before film screening: Supreme Court

Nobody is forcing respect, don't want to stand remain freaking outside the theater when the Anthem is played. Let's other sing it with pride instead of people like you creating a ruckus by moving around and talking.

Or sitting. And enraging.

Well, I didn't say I wouldn't stand, I just pointed out the foolishness in the decision, but if I have to argue with you I would say, Why should I remain outside the theater? Like everyone else I've bought a ticket, you stand, jump, cry or show your 'patriotism' whichever way you like, I'm not causing you any inconvenience, why should you cause inconvenience to me?
Yes! I wouldn't recommend moving around or talking loudly during the National Anthem but if they're sitting quietly, nobody else should care.....

The problem is that you will get beaten up. And you know it.

This law just makes things clear, and easier for the authorities involved. The police and the courts, who will follow.

You are causing an inconvenience, forget about causing inconvenience which it was earlier now you are breaking a law. Add to that list disrespecting your nation and having zilch manners.

Bro, how often do you as a common man get the opportunity of being gathered in the same place with 500+ countrymen? What is wrong if we stand and sing our anthem? I stand and my kids do the same when the anthem is played on TV. I do not find it stupid at all.

You are missing the point....why impose on people, who are they to say people have forgotten ??

All laws are impositions bro. Which imply prosecution for non compliance. This is no different. And should not be seen as an imposition. But a tool to make life easier (and less ambiguous) for the authorities in cases of non compliance. And the public outrage that is sure to follow. I really fail to see the reason for hyperventilation by Indians here. The others do not count.

Its extremism, torture for 50 seconds when a person has constitutional right to not respect the country.

What if SC wants us to raise our right hand too while singing national anthem ?

I will enter the cinema hall after National anthem has played. No disrespect to national anthem, but no one will impose anything on me. I live in a free country.

You are well within your right to enter when you want. Or leave. But you will not be seated when the national anthem is being sung. I think that works.

P.S. Right hand eh. Golden rule of Internet in India. Let a discussion go on long enough, Hitler and the Third Reich will be pulled in kicking and screaming in Teutonic protest sooner rather than later.

I think the police and the court deals with grievous assault a bit more seriously than ignoring to stand for a national anthem...who knows ..maybe even some prison time

Are you from Sweden?

In India, unless you draw blood, or break bones/teeth, there is no "grievous assault".

Check with a local cop if you think I'm wrong.

What makes you certain the rowdy pseudo nationals won't draw blood ? And when they do , grievous assault it will be ..
