Tejas is going fine for now and it will see service as thought out by MOD. By its standards the finished product would be equivalent to any other 4.5th generation fighter that entire world is using or planning to use in vast majority since 5G fighters are expensive.

Wasn't LCA suppose to replace migs which were mainstay of iaf.

If india fear that pakfa can land up in chinese hand then why even join it.isn't it wasting money on two duplicate projects.

MiG 21 was the mainstay of Indian Air Force in the 60's and the 70's. Come 80's the entry of fourth generation aircraft the MiG 21 lost it's significance and after the Su 30 MKI the MiG 21 became cannon fodder.

The IAF needed something like the Folland Gnat/Ajeet. They wanted an interceptor and not an air superiority fighter but when the GSQR reached IAF further changes took place periodically.

We are not investing in PAK-FA. We are investing in FGFA. These two are different projects all together. Please do not confuse it.

yes usa dont need f-35.it cant afford it in present economy slump.

f22 is more an air superiority fighter and f35 is more a bomber. both can perform each other's tasks but air superiority fighter can do very basic bombing tasks and bomber can do very basic air-to-air fight.

both are 5th gen aircrafts and both require to completment each other.

They already had f-22 from 1990s and now they cant afford it so they stopped making it.And making a weapon is not like it should take endless time. what will happen if u've to fight tomorrow where is your promised super duper LCA.Pakistan worked with in its limit to get a flyin plane in hands with which it can fight.India still waiting endlessly for its super duper plane.

LCA is an amazing plane but was not good enough for the IAF as Fifth gen planes are to making a debut so the ADA is bing asked to build a fifth Gen plane as that is the direction our neighbor is heading or has already begun the journey........

Won't be surprised if buy 2020 ADA is asked for start work on 5.5 or 6 gen nothing wrong with it at all it is just future planning.

about the dhruv it was never designed to be a fully weaponized people tried it as a stop gap measure but since the LCh is on the block it can take over the attack chopper role and Dhruv can go back to its original function......
