The exercises seem to be very land centric. The lack of "combined" operations with the PLAAF is a worrying sign for China, if you ask me.

Is China about learn a very painful lesson about how airpower will change the balance of power and the war ?

I get that the title is "PLA" exercises, but my point still stands.

China has a problem with controlling the airspace in that region due to lack of airbases and associated infrastructure.

PLA mean People's liberate Army. If China-India war break out, Chinese Rocket force will target all of the Indian airbase while the airforce will controlling the sky.
