Buddy, did you start this thread to let it be ruined by some trolls who have nothing worthwhile to add? If so then it is OK. But if you had intended some worthwhile discussion on the subject of defence cooperation and exchange between India and China, then my request is not to feed these certified trolls. These are highly acclaimed and proficient trolls with many years of trolling experience under their belts. They can destroy your thread in no time if you allow them. The best way to handle them is to ignore them or, if they are being particularly obnoxious, just report them and let the mods handle them.
The point is that despite certain reverses in bilateral relations between India and China in the recent months, the governments of both the nations believe that military to military contacts are worthwhile and useful and that is why the Chinese delegation is here. The military is always an important tool in foreign policy interactions and military to military contacts built over a period of time help in better understanding between nations and are useful in diffusing flash point situations which otherwise may snowball into major issues. An example of this is the phone call made by our DGMO to his Pakistani counterpart when that helicopter strayed across the LC. The Pakistanis responded by releasing the helicopter and the crew in a matter of hours after refueling it. This was possible only by a high level military interaction. Remember, the military of any country is the last body that wants war as it has to bear the brunt of that war. War between India and china is in the interest of neither country and therefore it is wise for us to encourage military to military interactions which may help in preventing such a war in the future.
