If True then it is continuation of MoU signed some years ago about stealthy JFT version and stealth bird.



Now single engine TVC option also available.



If only four are carried in internal bay then solution like multipurpose CFTs of F-15s or weapons pod of F-18 advance super hornet can be implemented to enhance fire power.

a light semi stealthy fighter without weapon bay is a crime to tax payer, PAF needs a medium+ stealthy fighter.

PAF seek less maintenance / cost effective bird that is why they prefer single engine plane but no one in public knows what final 5th gen plane will look.

May be ok for a Navy Varient or Night Mission bird

The weapons are all visible outside the bird

Every thing else will reflect the plane's presence

Because they are idiots... When I first saw images ... read the comments, I became really scared and sad in case it was a true news and one simple reason that one engine is enough to power a fifth gen A/C and some idiots start giving me examples of F35 without realising that even F35 is underpowered despite getting the single most powerful engine and also forgetting that no such engine is available to PAF.. thus as soon as, it got declared that it was a false news, it was such a relief for me.

Such a stealth plane would carry little ammo and be limited by range and won't be too stealthy ie
So kills the purpose of a stealth jet which should be able to take out deep well protected enemy targets
And if u compare the maintenance/ per hour flight costs single engine f35 costs more then double engine f18 so saving on maintenance won't be huge

Better to have small number of highly capable. true stealth jets to.demage enemy air defenses/ air power at first then large number of lower cost 4+ jf models.to take out rest of enemy Force
