What's new

Pinaki shows that Bangladesh sixth grade sociology text mobilizes Modi's RSS playbook

They might break into pieces but they will survive. India will keep it alive for its own self interest.
Well bhai , if India shall have the chance , they will devour Bangladesh , let alone a political party.

But you know unity is strength! Who knows maybe a balkanized BAL will once blame India and will turn anti India? It's highly unlikely though. But in the end , nothing is impossible in politics!

Also according to Pinaky , they ( CPB) real Indian assets are leftists like CPB in Bangladesh ( Russia sided Left ) , so unless they are suppressed completely you can't end indian influence completely!

But it's extremely hard , as although CBP has no acceptance in common people , but they have India herself behind their back!

So yes ending raw influence isn't an easy task I admit! 😢

Please watch the video to see if the history writers of new school texts are novices or not. They wrote Malik Ikhtieruddin Khilji came from Turkey.

This is the first time I hear such a group of people write such trash. He and all his people were from Garmshir in Afghanistan. They were a mixed bunch of Afghan and Turkic (not Turkish) people.

No less than 200,000 of these people had domiciled in Bengal whose descendants are now Muslim Bengali mixed with all other foreign incomers and local people in the course of a long 800 years. They cannot be identified separately anymore.

Please read at least one book, Haqiqat-i-Musalman-i-Bangal written by Kh. Fazle Rabbi. He was an Estate Manager of Murshidabad Nawabi Estate. There are many other history books on that subject.

Most fellow syhleti's back home dont give a B.s about this syhleti lingo thing. Only those ppl abroad and diaspora which are heavily influenced by b.s on the net. These western idiot diaspora don't realise they are being played by (RAW Indian), these western diaspora also have significant influence back home.

Many expert linguistics have estb that syhleti dialect is not unique enough or distinct enough to be its own language.

Just coz some mugual made a syhleti script for administrative purposes when syhlet joined assam for productivity reason. As local assam ppl were some back ward ppl and needed to be brought into the loop.

Syhleti have always been culturally bengali, muslim and also by blood.

Remember it was some stupid Syrian girl in n/y with twitter. That had no idea about the wider geopolitics the various things global powers pull behind closed curtains. Her favourite sinful past time was prolly watching 9120 or love Island or some sh**. Has had no idea about the complex demographics of Syria, the various ethnic groups and divisions.

She was busy being the bimbo playing the good western hijabi , posting all this twitter stuff - getting a whole country high on emotional octane and turning it in to ruble.

I know shouldn't, sometimes I wish she dies of a lightening strike. I know it's bad.

I see those pics of Syrian kids, orphans, hungry and trying to make it through a cold winter. My heart breaks , I also feel rage... it was always on list to visit Damascus some the street and buildings are original and unadultereed

All I can say is good luck. Y'all are fighting a behemoth in the form of India. They got you surrounded with a puppet government to keep you guys in line.
IMO it won't be long before similar programs emerge in Pakistan. With people generally losing trust in federal institutions, they'll increasingly look towards provincial and ethnic identities.

Provincialism and ethnocentrism are the greatest threats facing Pakistan, as it has been from the beginning.

I don't know the solution, but the problem is clear for everyone to see. National leaders have never been allowed to rule, but ethnocentrists/provincialists have historically been given free reign.

If they were able to exploit Bangladesh being a mono-ethnic entity, maybe they will have more of a success playing different ethnicities against each other in Pakistan, who knows. Pakistanis have to be careful.

Today's wars aren't fought using tanks and bullets, they are fought using social media and propaganda.

If you can convert the mentality and resolve of a nation which in turn controls votes, what else needs to be done?

The only things stronger than ethnic ties are ideological bonds. No matter how divisive the U.S. is, for example, the liberal ideology generally pulls and keeps it together. It's that ideology that drives good business conduct, relatively fair legal enforcement, and a common public belief in institutions. The American public have a common reference point they can go back to.

The problem with Pakistan and perhaps Bangladesh is that our people have been coached into not thinking and not taking ideas as a reference point. As a result, we have 'might is right' societies. When the federal might corrodes, like it is in Pakistan, local might will fill the void.

Thanks @bluesky bhai. I will search for a copy next time I'm in Dhaka or Calcutta. I like paper books. This is however a very old book (originally published from Calcutta in 1895) which is rather hard to find a reprint of (reprinted around the 1950's and 1960's. Here is the author's details in Bangladesh' online Banglapedia, which pre-dates Wikipedia by a decade.

During the government of Shuja-ud-din Mohammad Khan in Murshidabad, Nadir Shah (King of Persia) invaded India and sacked Delhi and other cities. Most of the inhabitants of Delhi and the surrounding parts fled at that time into Bengal to seek the protection of Shuja-ud-din Muhammad Khan. This ruler accorded liberal treatment to these refugees and conferred great benefits upon them.

These are the nobility who formed the Muslim upper and upper middle class in Bangladesh from the early days. Of course JahangirNagar is a far older city than any other city in Bengal (including Kolkata/Sutanuti), as was Sonargaon, which was the capital of the Elias-shahi dynasty, which dates back to 1342.

Ultimately - a lot of Mughal courtiers (both Afghan and Turkic) decided to move further east to East Bengal, enabled by the often free grants of land (Zameendari) given to them by the Nawab's court in Murshidabad and these nobles settled in Central and East Bengal from then on, mainly in JahangirNagar (Dhaka) but also in Chittagong, attracted by the wealth and agri-productivity of the land. The period was 1735 to 1785, when the Mughal empire was also on the wane.

This is exactly how the East India company finished off the leftover pieces of the Mughal empire by the time of the decline after Aurangzeb.

Tiny Muslim "might is right" balkanized fiefdoms and Sultanates which were set against each other by the East India company under one clever pretext or another - and made to destroy each other, the spoils divided between Hindu kings who were more than happy to pay tithes to the Brits in return for being left alone.

The book Haqiqat-i-Musalman-i-Bangal was written in Persian and was first translated into English. The English version was again translated into Bengali named "বাংলার মুসলমান". I possess either Bengali or English versions.

One piece of information in the subject book is about the Bengali Muslim population in the 1st census carried out in 1880 and the 2nd one in 1890. There are Districtwise population figures.

On average Muslims constituted only about 35% in those days in Bengal (please do not mix up Bengal with Bangladesh because there was no Bangladesh nor there was east Bengal before 1946 as a political entity) but it rose to 54% in 1946 which was a strong point for the Pakistan movement.

It rose not because many people converted but because of producing more children in Muslim families due to traditional thinking, early marriages, and widow marriages. Hindus always are more calculating/ cautious about producing many children.

There are hundred other reasons that the Muslim population rose faster than the Hindu population. But of course, there were planned conversions by Mughal Akber after Delhi took control of Bengal after a long 30-year fighting.

Generally speaking, we are a mixed group of people. Bengal was something that is America today. North Indian people used to say there were hundreds of roads leading to Bengal, but not a single road to get out of it.

Today, it is just the opposite. There are hundreds of roads to get out but not a single one to get in. It means no one willing to go and settle in Bengal.

Even British administrators noted the role of widow marriage for differential growth rate of Muslim and Hindu population in Bengal. I read it in some district gazettes of colonial period. A huge number of Hindu young women were denied marriage and child bearing for the non-permissibility of widow remarriage among Hindus. On the other hand, Bengali Muslim community not only practiced widow remarriage but also serial monogamy of Muslim women. It was very common among Bengali Muslim women in rural areas to go through marriage-divorce-remarriage multiple times in her life thus adding more offspring. If this two unequal growth trend allowed to continue for several centuries then it is very normal that Bengali Muslim community out numbered Hindus by late 19th century.

I was only talking about only a few historical reasons why/ how the Bengali Muslim population grew faster than the Hindu population.

You can argue the same about many Hindu, as they also had a considerable pop increase post independence.

The direct linkage, is families or young families stuck in poverty, where they have a number off spring to help them with agri-based community society. Which hasn't been through mechanisation process.

You find this every where through education and wealth cross religious/culture ppl om average tend to have smaller families.

Yes old school idiot mullah didn't help
