Some of the US Army recruits who visited NDA called the training as brutal. They were wondering how can the to be Indian officers undergo such a brutal training???

It was a normal training. Had they seen the Commando training they would have raised human rights concerns.

It is not about training but about what is there so attractive about the goosestep that generally dictatorships usually perform it. The type of soldier that most dislike pomp are special forces and they are more physically fit than most. Here is what I notice in my experience with several militaries...The less capable they are, the more grandiose their parades, the gaudier the uniform, the more bellicose the speeches and they usually marches in goosestep.
