Hey guys

I am just curious how the areas look like around your home and your hometown/city.
Show me and the others the beautyful spots of your area ..

My hometown... small town in central Germany called Bad Nauheim.
The orignal name was Nauheim... because of salt and hot water the town tranfered into a health resort town, 200years ago, which recive in Germany the word Bad (bath) infront of the city name so every German town city with a Bad at the start is some sort of a health resorts.

Hotel Grunewald were Elvis Presely lifed during his Army service in Germany today with a smal monument

Bad-Nauheim-Gradierbauten-600-200.jpg

large landmarks of the passed the so called Gradierwerk...large brushwood constructions... the salt water from the fontains was pumped by water and windpower (the tower in center was a wind powered waterpump) on top of the brushwood contruction and run down slowly between the thin wood... the sun reduced the water which increased the salt/water which made it later easyer to cock the water away till only salt was left... nice side effect the springling down salt water made a seaside like atmosphere which has a nice effect on people with respiratory tract suffer.

this is the Trinkuranlage (drink cure complex) in the past the people on cure went there to drink water from a fontain... (terrible tasting high on iron and other minerals but healthy) after drinking they could relax and listen to concerts... today it is home of a small museum, restaurant a cocktail bar and dancing school and during summer time they make concerts for oldery people mostly classis music.... it is only a stone throw away from my homeI walk there every day with my dogs...

Concrete jungle from two days ago. I took the photo

The next concrete jungle is only 25km away from my home... Frankfurt am Main... nice to have the option to move between lovely country side and a big city...

From the Johannisberg hill you can see the skyline of Frankfurt

:cheesy: puzzels a european to see snow in a desert... if I think of a desert I think of extrem heat and burning sun

High altitude desert. Probably in Balochistan where the plateu averages about 6000 feet or about 1800 metres. Temps in winter are colder than large parts of Europe. Conversly boiling in summer. This is Skardu in another region of Pakistan.

Toronto is the same. An hour from the city in any direction will take you to the country side. It's just so expensive to live here unless you bought a property 15 years ago. It's almost impossible for us to buy a house here unless we have millions stashed somewhere
