The houses in the pictures are all privates. They are there for ages.
It was Sheik kingdom. Ayub khan bought it back.

GWADAR HISTORICAL BACKGROUND

Gate way of wind Gwadar is located at entrance of the Persian Gulf. Its 600 KM long coastline is one of the most beautiful coastlines of the world with shining blue water and marble white sand. Gwadar stands as the new heart line, a new commercial hub for the world.

Surrounded by Dasht and Kolanch valleys a rich historical background tags Gwadar, ruled by Afrasiab, Khusro and Lahrasip Gwader saw the Advantest of Alexander the great followed by the rule of Chandara Gupta Moria in 303 b.c.
A detailed history is missing afterwards but for some time Gwadar remains a centre for pirates their graves can still be traced at the bottom of Sanghar.

A well-known Portuguese write Manual de.f.Sauza in 16th Century wrote a detail of Portuguese attack on Gwadar in his book (The history of Portuguese days in east) but the invaders were defeated by local Kalmat tribe as Mir Hamal Fought bravely but was later captured and taken into custody.

Khan of Kalat Mir Naseer Khan Nori included in to his realm in 1777. In 1783 Mir Naseer present Gwader to Saeed Sultan the defeated ruler of Muscat. Saeed Sultan after Mir Naseer's death recaptured Muscat but continue to rule Gwader.

After Independence the Gwadar question was raised again by Kohda Abdul Rasool baran, Haji Muhammad Iqbal Baluch a local businessman son of Kohda Durra Khan, Mir Ghafoor Kalmati chief of kalmati tribe and in 1949 Khan Liaqat ali Khan ask for annexation of Gwadar to Pakistan Haji Muhammad Iqbal in his famous letter written to government of Pakistan Stressed that due to strategic and economic importance Gwadar must become a part of Pakistan. While Kohda Abdul Rasool and Mir Ghafoor Kalmati continue their struggle on domestic frontier, as a result of this valiant effort Gwadar was repurchased from the Sultan of Muscat on 8th September 1957.

The struggle of new Baluch heroes was unfinished yet and in 1968 Gwadar, Pasni Jewani, Turbat, Panjgoor and Ormara were linked to the rest of the country by air.

Haji Muhammad Iqbal baluch was awarded Tamga-e-Khidmat by Field Marshall Muhammad Ayub Khan for linking Baluchistan to the rest of Pakistan through his company National Express.

But there was another four-storied fort that was more lot more interesting & totally intact. See if you can find any info on that. It even had a canon lying in it decaying.

Dubai started off worse --- and from the sand rose a modern marvel (though I personally am not utilitiz the 'Dubai culture' and overall feel). Big things ahead for Gwadar. This is a game-changer.


Dubai took decades to reach this level ... they have enough money to pour... Gwadar may be reach that level, only depend on how much you utilise available resources .. apart Chinese commitment, I don't see basic steps taken by your govt to absorb the project as it is.

If gwadar has skyline on its coast it will resemble capetown not dubai due to mountains in the backdrop .

Are there any high rise planned ?

High rises can't be planned before hand. Once Gwadar becomes a proper economic hub and a metropolitan city, then private investors would start building them as you can see now in Karachi. We can just hope the planners have an area marked to be the future CBD so a proper skyline can develop unlike Karachi where all high rises are scattered all around so we have no proper skyline. Building designs should be modern in Gwadar though!

Karachi has decent middle sized Skylines but they are scattered all over the city . Clifton , Saddar , bahadurabad , Downtown all have small but separate skylines . If say it was as small as Dhaka in area then the Skyline in Karachi would be dense . Its spread over 3500 sqkm so you cant have all the skyscrapers in one place .

Absolutely right! Gwadar skyline would look amazing. Karachi has plenty of land to expand unlike Mumbai and Dhaka which due to the land constraint have gone up. Had the Government set up only one high density zone the Karachi skyline would have looked amazing. Right now it looks a bit like Sao Paulo
