So after the fall of East Germany and the wall as taken down and the country became unified and all that good stuff, there was that ever so famous get-together of American & NATO fighters with East German fighters that were all Soviet aircraft at the time, of course. So they had that friendly get-together (I wouldn't call it an exercise, but a friendly exchange of pilots and flying together) and this pic is from that get-together between the East German AF and the preominantly NATO aircraft of the US stationed in West Germany. This was a very famous get-together as it marked the first time, really, that NATO and particularly the US got together with a Russian controlled State in a friendly manner without hostilities.
The F-15C here looks amazingly similar to our friend @Chogy who used to be a member on another forum as well as this one here and flew the F-15C as he was stationed in Germany in the 80s and early 90s and he told us the tail number of his aircraft but I don't remember it. Looks very much similar to this one.
But it's pretty interesting to see the differences between the 2 aircraft and how one is much simpler in its lines than the other that has more cuts and wedges and angles etc. and at the same time, see so much similarity in the overall shape of the wings, H-stabs and even locations of those flight surfaces. But both beautiful in their own rights.
