I have come to the conclusion that wars and conflicts always end in more turmoil.

No matter how noble and wise your experience, the fact is that war accelerates the progress of a society. It is an existential struggle. If everyone sits lazy and harps over peace, no one is sweating to find that solution that gives you an edge over the enemy. USA is an advanced country because it is always in a state of perpetual anxiety - no matter how insignificant the threat.
