PIA women staff new uniforms gives glamorous look

This is a persuasive case of branding
You can subjectively claim it is inspired by the new (post 1970s) Arab airlines but as I have shown objectively, similar headgear was used from the inception of PIA in 1950s right upto late 1960s. Of course like you said it might be that those who chose the style were not informed by PIA's style from 1950s but by what Gulf airlines use today. That might or might not be the case.

If it is so I bloody well hope they also copy the efficiency, service and maybe alcohol? You won't see me complaining about this "Arabization". But alas that won't happen. Pak only copies the shite.

"The highest of standards in ingredients, preparation and service on all flights.

The people of the United Arab Emirates pride themselves on their hospitality and service, and as the international airline of Dubai, so do we. That is why every delicious and satisfying meal served on Emirates is planned and prepared with the same care and the same high-quality ingredients.

  • Economy Class customers enjoy a complete range of complimentary drinks including aperitifs, spirits, beers and a choice of excellent red and white wines, except on flights to Saudi Arabia. Champagne is also available, at a reasonable cost."

Ps. I don't drink.I just wanted to show what "Arabization" really is.

Not only do you continue to pretend you are American, only to fool yourself into thinking you are hoodwinking the rest of us. BUT you compound it with now showing no respect for your motherland Pakistan, women from it and your religion by making disgusting remarks, objectifying a muslim women with not so subtle remarks.

They are mothers, sisters and daughters working for living, not objects for your perverted desires. BTW- Whatever do you mean you won't do anything "American". It's not Americans who are known to get drunk and misbehave on international flights to and from Pakistan. You should apologize and delete your remarks immediately

And what the pretender forgot is that in the US, they call it a "hand bag" not a purse. It would be flew on, not "flew through" (what a darn Urdu translation, lol), "the PIA" . So nothing wrong with them assigned to your seat. How about your sister being one of them? Would you like her assigned to someone's seat in Business Class? And since we know you are a pretender, for Business Class, "jao apna moon dho kar aaao" Purses!!!

Still practical and best

Just hire a french designer and be done with it

I think in end , what counts

a) Good Salaries
b) Proper balance of work & rest
c) Attitude towards customer service during short flights (Comes with training and incentive)
d) Transition of crew into Ground role after 10 years of Air Service

If there are long wait lines and , chaos on check in , and horrible service when asking for water or pillow all of this does not matters

For people these days what matter is

a) Easy fast checkin, no bull crap lines waiting to check in
b) Easy seatings close to family
c) Proper positioning of chairs so Uncle in front does not tilts the seat to my crotch
d) Modern planes and service with smile
e) Availability of crew on plane who clean the washrooms during flight keep it fresh
f) No heavy meal during flight , serve a simple sandwhich and Cola or orange juice

Ban on people carrying 10 bags

This one looks cool and can be revived (with some updates if necessary) as its still look modern.

@Urpflanze Read above. PIA was using that style (1950-1960s) before any of the Gulf airlines were set up. If anything it was the Arabs who copied PIA.
It was not original to PIA. All airlines including BOAC and BEA used a very similar uniform from the '40s onwards. All the ethnic styles came in much later. The original was a suit with cap and wings. See below some of the early uniforms.

The dress code is important but it takes a second place in front of the age.
And that is directly related to the amount of effort, force and enthusiasm those male and female flight attendants desire to put in their jobs. When more than half of your crew can be categorized under the titles of Aunties and uncles, it seems like you are ignoring a major issue and only addressing the one with a secondary importance. Those old fellas have lots of their own problems going on at the back of their mind. It's only natural.Nothing much anyone else can do about it.Even when Quran mentions about such concepts of Jannah and providing the successful ones with service it talks about the virgin girls and young guys. The one reading it just needs to be a bit broadminded in the application of these concepts.

Since it's a PIA so, i'll say that something will always be better than nothing. They need to shift the ratios here. The amount of experience does count but the aged experienced ones can only fill up the small percentage of the crew that an organization may need for this job.
Age is important when your work demands an activity of that magnitude and it's a routine for you.

You may quote me on an 80 year old man successfully climbing the mount Everest. But it's not his job to try and do that every day , make it his routine & follow the protocols as the book says he should.

What is wrong with older crew members ? It may not appeal to your testoterone. But they can do the job.
