KARACHI: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) adds another feather in its cap by carrying two passengers in its flight from Lahore to Karachi in toilet due to non-availability of seats, Geo News reported Tuesday.

The captain of the national flag carriers' flight PK 303 accommodated two passengers in the plane's toilet, as all the seats in the plane were occupied and there was no more seat left for them.

Through introduction of its amazing new service for its valued passengers, PIA really does justice to its slogan 'Great people to fly with'.

PIA is where it is due to mismanagement. A country of 180m people doesnt even need so much inputs from foreigners when every aircraft of PIA to and from Pakistan are almost always at full capacity --meaning demand is there.

it is over-staffed....it needs to be privatized IMMEDIATELY but this ''government'' like ones before it are too scared to let go of this cash-cow, and instead opt to drain it through the most un-necessary expenditures ever.

dont forget that Pierre Cardin and other top designers were rushing in trying to design the uniform for PIA staff; this was the first airline in Asia to introduce Jet aircrafts; the first airline of the region to fly a cross-Atlantic service to New York's JFK.


today it is where it is purely because of sheer incompetence and greed in its purest form.


stories like the ones in this topic are most unhelpful.........PIA needs to be privatized, like the Railways. We also need to adopt some protectionist measures to ensure that the Gulf carriers like Emirates do not get any unfair advantage -perhaps increase the price for their landing rights fees in Pakistan, at least until PIA can become more competitive.

could be worse though....at least those passengers got to their destinations. Whoever over-booked that flight needs to be fired; as does whoever authorized more passengers than what is allowed.

@ Abu zulfiqar ----no privatization please ---the "privates" are 10 times worse --remember the aircraft type they were trying to get patched up at a roadside (bicycle?) puncture shop! just try to be honest in management at government level...
