Lahore (18th July, 2019): Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) contract given to Avionics Solution (Private) Limited.
According to Baaghi TV’s sources, contract for PIA has been awarded to a newly registered company, Avionics Solution. Sources confirm, the contract has been given to the private firm for approximately Rs. 700 million on the 18th of March, 2019.

Baaghi’s sources confirm, that Avionics Solution (Private) Limited of CUIN 0131517 came into existence only a few months ago. Moreover, the company’s jurisdiction being in Pakistan, its head office is situated in the Urban Islamabad Capital Territory (I.C.T.) on Main Golra Road.

According to Baaghi’s sources, the evaluation report which has been recently discovered confirms that as per Policy, the International Corporation of Singapore has been rejected in the bid to be granted the contract by Avionics Solution. It is further stated in the evaluation report that principle activities for this private company include:

“749,000 Professional, scientific and technical activities/ Other professional, scientific and technical activities n.e.c./ Other professional, scientific and technical activities n.e.c.”

However, there is no proper explanation as to what these activities may be. What is most alarming, is that the future of Pakistan’s official government airlines, PIA has been handed over to a company with little to no experience. A company which has suddenly come into existence without any prior connections.

How can the public of Pakistan expect any progress to come out of such an agreement from a company that is itself a fledgling? At a time when it is supposed to be taking baby steps towards progress, how can Pakistan International Airlines which is itself rapidly deteriorating be awarded to this newly registered company under the promise of progress?

This is Pakistan guys...nothing is going to change...imran khan or no imran khan

. .
So its a new company that sent a proposal that was accepted.
What's wrong with that? As long as the proposal made sense and was both cost effective and quality oriented compared to what others might have sent?

Lobbies at around work here... the mafia that destroyed PIA creating false stories.

.
Sir, PIA has been in this condition because of these Questionable appointments, you are saying that the only way it can turn around is continuing to do the same old Same old?

No, I am not saying this at all.

I am assuming that the Air Marshall has been selected as the CEO because IK thinks that he can deliver. I am saying that once a CEO has been appointed and given the task of turning PIA round. We should sit back and let him do what in his opinion is the 'Right'.

How do we know that the system would be below par? What guarantee do we have that another company would do better? In my honest opinion, it is not fair to start criticizing his choice of the company to provide in-flight entertainment before the system has been installed and found to be sub-standard. If we are convinced that like the previous one this CEO is also another 'Buzdar', we should not be appointing Pakistanis on 'Key Positions' and simply appoint foreign consultants to run PIA for us.

I stand by my assertion that once must think a thousand times before appointing Chief Executive of a key national asset like PIA, but once it is done he should be allowed a free hand at least for a year or so to see if he can really deliver. Remember it is very easy to criticize, especially the individual actions, however, what really matters is the end result of the 'Sum' of the policies.

I just on the Geo News that a Justice of the High Court has ordered that PIA should be run by the Board of Governors. I have two comments on this decision.

Firstly, it is right that if you do not feel that the CEO is right for the job, he should be replaced. However, in this case, can we be sure that the Board of Governors would run it more efficiently?

Secondly, IMHO this is 'Judicial Activism'. It is not the job of a Judge to decide who will run a national company. As if the loss to the national exchequer through atrocious judgments about the Steel Mill & Recodeq was not enough, now the Judghes are deciding about PIA as well!. It is correct that PIA belongs to the Nation as a whole and not a particular person. But it does not belong to the High Court either. It is not the job of the High Court Judges to decide who will run a state concern or how it would be run.

Would the honorable Judges also decide who should be the Head of Pakistan Railway, PIDC, and the Steel Mill? Then what is the job of the Executive? Why not dispense with the Federal & Provincial gov't and let the Judges run the whole country. It is only in Pakistan that the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court comes to inspect how a hospital is run and runs a fund to build a "dam".
