PHOTOS: This Saudi Arabian rice is world's most expensive

Also please tell me again who went off-topic in this thread to begin with and where South Asia all of a sudden appeared from?

Seems like you did not take my previous post to read and understand, as i said, rather than quoting back and being the part to derail the topic, just report and move-on, I repeat, just report and move-on without quoting back. On one side everyone quotes back other member yet come with a claim to justify own acts though one wrong wouldn't make other right while doing so the same.

Well, at least in my eyes, it would be logical to delete all off-topic posts, while at it, instead of a few specific ones which were neither worse or more off-topic than the ones standing. In particular when one of the posts standing, which I countered but my post was deleted, is of a racial and nonsense nature.

Anyway I get it, this is a Pakistani forum and all.

Feel free to delete my post or ban me, lol.

After pointing out the issue, at-least give some time to do the needful. Just refresh the page and see thread before making such claims.

rather eat dirt over saudi rice

Thanks for voicing your retarded and irrelevant opinion. I will be kind and let you eat the dirt that I walk on occasionally the next time you reappear.

A wonderful photo of one of the Al-Hasa rice fields taken by Haidar Haddad.

I will say this for the millionth time. The government and private investors, including wealthy families, must help farmers and especially those struggling.

People should be more aware of the environment and don't be too wasteful. Many people if not most (not only in KSA but across the planet) are too wasteful and our planet cannot sustain such behavior forever.

This is part of Islamic teachings and even if it was not it is common sense.

In fact if moving across small distances why not walk, take the bike or even better use a horse or camel like in the good old days if given the opportunity no matter how rare it is? Especially the latter would be great fun for many and would help many people bind with nature, something that many people have lost in the modern society.

Oman's food is superb and unlike the rest of the region... remember influence from Zanzibar and other former trading areas.
If there is an area i feel home in it is Oman.

el dear anytime btw i recently met a south african guy he was here for short time and he was involved in defense related issues.i dont know if it was u lol

HOw does the rice tastes? I think this is THE MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION HERE :P

I bet it is nothing compared to the varieties we are producing like Basmatti and Super Kernel etc
I tasted it once with lamb salan...tastes like a boiled wheat with little sweat taste....

We can easily grow it to export Arab countries.

Would love to try.

Btw have you tried basmati rice? The best rice imho.
Yes we eat it daily.
Haven't you heard ours is world class.
Indians have Been caught trying to pass of as Indian in the past.

It would be best for Saudi to buy up farmland in Africa than to dry up her own aquifer. Worse, use up the oil for desalination. Even Asir region, that receives the most rainfall in Saudi, is ill suited for paddy.

No, it was not myself. I visited Oman twice. Once it was on a once in a lifetime journey taking a dhow all the way from Dar up the coast of east africa until arrival in muscat. Then it was via plane. Loved it very much. Seeb must have changed a lot since then. I just wish one day i visit again; while I cannot speak Arabic, i do speak swahili well so you cannot imagine my surprise that it was easy to get around.
Superb food - exactly like in Zanzibar, Mombasa, Dar - miskaki/mandazi.
What stood out was the downright pleasant nature of omanis and humbleness.

If you can ever get a chance, open a seperate thread on spice mix; man - i always remembered when we were out my friend would cook and he put a spice mix in which was yellow - i think tumeric based but superb taste. I tried for years to mix up various blends and until today cannot come close to it. He did not know what was in it either. this was used everywhere e.g. fish, goat etc.
- I tried :
- dried lemon, tumeric, coriander powder, ginger dried, garlic dried, clove, nutmeg, fennel, black pepper mixture - this was close to what was used based on taste.
