China’s Ministry of National Defense has confirmed that two Chinese H-6 bombers that flew over waters around the Western Pacific were on a routine exercise. A ministry spokesperson confirmed that the exercise was not aimed at any third countries at a daily briefing on Monday.

A day earlier, the ministry confirmed that the bombers flew round trip from the East China Sea to the Pacific Ocean without violating Japanese airspace.

Earlier, on the same day, they overflew waters between the Okinawa islands. The spokesperson also said that the exercise was carried out under international laws and practices, and that similar exercises were planned for the future
