Duh it is actually not that horrifying and certainly not as dangerous as SARS , more like smallpox , there are different varieties of it with kill rate from 60-80 %. Most patients usually die well before they even start bleeding. Bleeding happens late and because of a phenomenon called DIC which happens in many other illnesses also. People who survive ebola develops protective antibodies which can be used to treat a patient

More like the movie "Outbreak" starring Morgan Freeman.

And yes, Ebola is terrifying. More so than smallpox. There is no cure and the survival rate is low. With smallpox, at least there are vaccine available.

Speaking of World war Z, some ebola virus victims do end up looking like zombie, with bloodshot eyes and all. But not as nasty as smallpox.
