Philippines detains coast guards involved in Taiwanese fisherman shooting

You cannot shoot 57 large-caliber bullets at an unarmed fisherman for one hour and expect to escape punishment from justice.

Honestly, IMO this is not going to end well for China. Even if Philippines compromises a bit, the Taiwanese people will simply say "look America saved us by pressuring Philippines in private, yay for America, yay for America's poodle Ma..... and down with the mainland!"

Nah, this is an issue strictly between Taiwan and Philippine. As long as US do not interfere, Taiwan can bring justice to the Filipinos.

Chinese foiled from occupying island

Philippine Navy ships used “bashing maneuvers” to drive away three fishing boats from mainland China that tried to occupy an island off Palawan in the West Philippine Sea on Tuesday, military sources said.

The fishing boats were in the vicinity of Ayungin Reef, also known as the Second Thomas Reef, when the Philippine Navy ships arrived and made “circling maneuvers” that forced the Chinese to move out, the source said.

“They were forced to back-off several miles from Ayungin Reef after our ships arrived in the area,” said the source who spoke to the Manila Standard on condition of anonymity.

The PI navy/coastguard haven't have much luck lately so you guys even glorify their “bashing maneuvers” on fishing boats here? I wonder would they disappear when they see a bigger ship and what kind of magic would they use on their disappearance?

Same post 6 time
