Pretty sure Phillippine is not going to go with Japanese type 90.

This is actually a bit more expensive than a modernized M1A2 Abrams.

It is not just the up front cost. Japanese tanks are notorious for being loaded with unnecessary electronics, which requires more maintenance cost and effort than its peers.

While military purchasing from Japan is overall cost inefficient, but if you have to purchase something from them, you are better off sticking with ships instead land equipment or planes. The latter are generally overpriced to an insane degree while do not performance as well as its peers from other nation.

Why not Patria and ACV15 since we already ACV15 in our inventory and according to Sir max the guy who made the blog that Patria is popular with the Philippine Army because of its Modular designed and i agree and its variants have been tested in battle.

The issue with both the Korean K1-88 tank and the Japanese Type 90 is that both are not battle-tested, and I mean literally baptism through fire. Type 74 may be good but it would likely undergo extensive modernization just to be on par with an early third-generation MBT. It would depend on which of the two countries will provide a nice incentive for their tanks.

As for the MBT-3000, considering the diplomatic situation between the Philippines and Mainland China, I doubt this vehicle will even be considered. As for the T-84 Oplot, since the Crimean issue didn't become a full-scale war, Ukraine could export it, but I am not sure about the PH's relation with Ukraine and the fact that the T-84 Oplot is based on the Soviet/Russian T-72 tank; the same can be said with the Russian T-14, which is a recent tank design.

The K21-105 and K21-120 seems to be a good idea but this variant of the K21 IFV seems to be a prototype so I am not sure as whether this would be a good idea or not.

i would love to see Ph army to operate some used Leopard2 MBT, they are cheap and have a good maintenance support from their factory as long as your army had considerable financial budget to afford the logistical need as western MBT achilles heel is their logistic consideration.

Indonesia, also an archipelago, has the Leopard MBT and Apache AH because it has a land border to defend against Malaysia while we don't, unless we (Philippines) take back Sabah from Malaysia.
