Lahore / Karachi are top on pollution charges , and massive garbage problem specially for Karachi as PPP transports the budget funds out to UAE by speed boats and other gimicks (Budgets disappear)

Unlike Beijing, where the smog is visible, PM 2.5 and PM 10 pollution in our cities is mostly transparent, so just because we can't 'see' it, we think it doesn't exist.

It's time like this I like to remind people of the necessity of public transit systems like Metro. Provide people with a viable alternative, so that they stop using bikes/qingqi/rickshaws/old vehicles, which pollute and contribute HEAVILY to these readings.

This can't be right, I am from Karachi and Karachi has to be the most polluted city in Pakistan, I have visited other cities as well, like Lahore, Pindi, Islamabad, Peshawar. Pindi would be close to Karachi in terms of pollution but nothing beats Karachi. Even Hyderabad felt worse than Peshawar. Actually most cities in Sindh are really polluted

I agree with you. I visited Karachi a couple of months back and I could see kachra at every corner of the road. A city with no Govt... pity..really

I think this list is for PM 10 levels the list for PM 2.5 levels is a different set of cities.

These particular cities might have such large 10micron particulate matter because it is near desserts? Maybe the sand blowing in is causing the pollution not industrial waste...just a thought!

May be its for some another set of particulate criteria coz when I last checked DELHI was the first and PATNA was second.dont know about Delhi but Patna is really suffocating.everyday I just deal with it.its really critical.

Yeh you are completely right, Imran Khan is the reason that Peshawar has air pollution. Imran Khan should be ashamed of himself, in 65 years he has not been able to fix the air pollution of Peshawar. He should learn from the sharif family, they have not let Pindi go above 4th spot even though they haven't been in power before just like MQM in Karachi.

i was astonished by this rating. i have visited karachi, lahore, peshawer, rawalpindi, quetta. karachi, lahore are definitely more polluted then peshawar.
