MODS I'm adding this news in this section cause Indians tried to portray this murder as religious persecution and hence the news became of international and strategic importance.

PESHAWAR.: The police have cracked the mystery of a Sikh youth’s murder in Peshawar, which India tried to portray as religiously motivated “target killing” to take the global spotlight off its own systematic discrimination of religious minorities.

A young man from the Sikh community, identified as 25-year-old Ravinder Singh from the remote Shangla district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, was found dead in Peshawar on Sunday. At the time, the media erroneously identified him as Parvender, saying he was in Peshawar for shopping.

Ravinder Singh, said to be the brother of a Sikh journalist Harmeet Singh, lived in Malaysia and had returned home for his wedding.

A senior security official told The Express Tribune on Thursday that it was a “contract killing” paid for by Ravinder’s fiancé, Prem Kumari, who didn’t want to marry him. “She promised the hitmen Rs700,000 for Ravinder’s murder,” the official added. “Part of the committed money was paid in advance, while the rest had to be paid after the murder.”

According to the investigation team, Ravinder was murdered in Mardan and later his body was shifted to Peshawar by the hitmen. Prem Kumari has been taken into custody at Mardan, one investigator told The Express Tribune.

“In Peshawar, the hitmen dumped the body at a deserted place and called the family from Ravinder’s phone to demand ransom or else they would kill him,” he added. “All this was done to divert any investigations into the murder.”

Ravinder’s body was found dumped at a deserted place in the precincts of Chamkani police station on Sunday – a day after he was murdered.

The investigation team – led by Peshawar’s capital city police officer – cracked the blind murder case after four days of arduous investigations in which officials from other investigative and intelligence agencies also provided valuable clues.

The Hindu nationalist government of Narendra Modi tried to portray it as a religiously motivated “target killing” to malign Pakistan for alleged persecution of religious minorities – triggering an angry rebuke from Islamabad.

“Indian attempts to politicise the tragic killing of [the] Pakistani Sikh youth are mischievous and reprehensible,” the Foreign Office spokesperson said on Monday.

“As this crime was reported, a case was registered immediately and a high-powered committee constituted to investigate the matter. The law will take its course and those responsible will be brought to justice,” she added.

“Rather than feigning any dishonest concern for minorities elsewhere, the BJP government would do better by focusing on the ongoing human tragedy at home and protecting India’s minorities from ‘Saffron terror’,” she said.

A day later, Indian Charge d’Affaires Gaurav Ahluwalia was also summoned at the Foreign Office to convey “Pakistan’s strong rejection of baseless and fabricated” allegations of mistreatment of the Sikh minority community in the country.

Indians tried very hard to portray this as religious persecution, but as it turns out it was just a regular murder committed for personal benefits. And as it is in most murder cases around the world the killer was from the family, his fiance in this case.

Whenever something tragic happens to a non Muslim in Pakistan, India and our own media jump on the news and immediately say it's persecution of the minorities. Be the alleged forced conversions or some kidnapping or Murder. But most of the times the girl chooses out of her own freewill to marry a Muslim and as is understandable that the family doesn't like it so they say she was forced into it and media hypes it up and when the real story comes out no one bothers to follow it and give it the same attention they gave it before and Indians use these fake stories to divert the attention from their internal mess.

People need to be careful and show some responsibility before they get swept up in media frenzy, everything is not perfect in our country but it's not as bad as some would want it to be.

Wow!!! Quite a way of getting away from an arranged marriage!!! I doubt whether any girl in India could gather this much "ferocious" courage!!! These Pashtun lands are no easy lazy place to live!! They make you hardened like a rock...

Condolences to the family of the deceased...

He looks like any normal Punjabi or Pukhtoon kid. I am sure no one can even know he is Sikh, but Pakistanis don't really care about that kind of thing.

Pretty much every Christian Pakistani walks around with big crosses on their neck, no problem.

so the girl was bold enough to hatch a murder move and contact killers for murder , but she was not bold enough to deny the marriage proposal . wah bhai wah , very good police story .
police can make anything possible .

.
I would not be surprised if Modi gets some sikhs killed in Pakistan to reduce the popularity Pakistan is getting among the Sikh population.

Sikh brothers are welcome, and Pakistan should work hard to stop these isolated incidents.
He would attack all minorities here to back his CAA Plan

This stuff happens in India where magically Hindu rapists and murderers get off scot free and the Hindus then vote them into office.

In Pakistan we don't tolerate such scum.

We even made a sitting minister resign last year when he mocked Hindus, for fear of offending our own Hindus.

Such kinds of killing are not uncommon in South Asia, and especially in the Sikh community.
