The project includes: Bus Rapid Transit System 30 km's long with 31 bus stops,Direct Service,80 km's long Feeder routes with 100 bus stops, Street Lights, Parking, Footpaths and Drainage System,Beautification of surrounding buildings, cycle and pedestrian lanes. It will have 400 buses.

It will serve 450000 passengers daily

Most importantly it will be self-sustainable and no subsidy would be provided by provincial gov't at all unlike other BRT's in Pakistan

This project looks much much better than rwp/isb project.
I hope they complete it within the budget.

And how do they exactly plan to achieve it without pricing the ticket at 50-60 Rs?

Actually for good service even middle class in Pakistan is willing to pay more than 50 or 60 rupees.

So I won't mind if they can provide a rapid transportation even at Rs100

Two types of buses – of 9-metre and 12-metre – will be used for Peshawar BRT. The 9-metre buses will be plying on the smaller roads outside the corridor such as Kohat Road, Bara Road, and residential roads at Hayatabad.

The 12-meter buses will be used on the corridor on the GT Road. These buses will be used at a later stage after the demand increases and the design proposed can already accommodate buses with 18-meter length.

All the buses used by the BRT will be run on diesel and not on the CNGas the CNG can increase the bus price as well as the operating andmaintenance cost. Also, the CNG poses problems with limited tank size, which requires buses to refill it after every 120-150 km.

Proposed fare for BRT buses

In the preliminary design of the BRT system, it has been proposed to apply distance-based regime, and a smart card system for the payment from the passengers to automatically calculate the distance travelled by each passenger.

Maximum fare has been proposed to be Rs50 for a distance of more than 40km. Any passenger using the BRT buses in one day will only need to pay a maximum of Rs50, even if he travels more than three times by using BRT facility.

Wow I am amazed of the comprehensive plan added to that it had its own cycle lane and is self sustained

And if they are able to execute such a large project then in next election I am voting for them

At first, they said Rs.14bn now they are saying RS.40+ will be the cost. Well, that escalated quickly!:pleasantry:
