To the people asking why the TTP would attack such 'low cost' assets - the fact of the matter is that they're not as low cost as we'd like to cost; they still cost a few million, and that in itself is a priority. Peshawar is flooded with militants more than any other city and is the city they'll have the most experience and knowledge of it, it's a the best opportunity. It also shows us something else: the TTP isn't able to carry out attacks away from the frontier region with the same ease as it did before.

Also, I presume the JF-17s would have the least security (that is not to say they have inadequete security) out of Pakistan's fighter aircraft simply for the reason that they are locally produced hence parts can be more easily obtained for repairs than say, for example, an F-16.

Why would anyone want to attack a civilian airport?

PAF has presence there, some Mirage aircrafts are based there

Neither was airport affected nor was airport in danger nor it was compromised at all. The cowards as usual were only expert at murdering innocent women and children.

This isn't the first time there was attack within vicinity of Peshawar Intl Airport there was another attack 2 years back or so, also a rocket attack. That time as well, security wasn't compromised.

And this is what it says on the tin: a war. You people may try to make some sort of a half-hearted conspiracy theory regarding the TTP but the end fact is the same: the majority of the TTP are Pakistani/Afghani. They had roots within the Frontier Region and the patronage of extremist groups didn't help the cause. But that's for another thread.

The fact is, they're a Pakistani problem. Not an American, Indian or Israeli problem. By trying to lay the blame at somebody else's door you are but only making your own more vulnerable. Accept that there is a problem affecting Pakistan -- the TTP had a strong hold inside Pakistan in the past -- and deal with it on that basis of acceptance.

Any security lapse or such is the fault of the Pakistani Establishment and Security agencies, but that doesn't mean you should go around blaming them all for it. A nation does not rest on the shoulders of a few, it is on the shoulders of many. I understand that not all of you can join the Armed Forces, or may even be against it, but that does not excuse you for doing nothing. If you can afford a computer and Internet in Pakistan, then you can afford to help. Volunteer for aid organisations, raise awareness of the Tribal Areas's plight where you live inside or outside Pakistan, go and teach what you can to disadvantaged children, take the bread from your mouth and give it to the poor.

By laying the blame on somebody else's door, you only lay it on your own. The State is the embodiment of the Nation, which is the embodiment of the people.
